Sony Online Entertainment revealed a brand new addition to DC Universe Online Friday: Bizarro. Even if you're not already familiar with the character, you can pretty much assume that anything with a name like that is going to be probably evil and definitely awesome. So who is this guy? DCUO provides a brief backstory for anyone living in a cave, and for the sake of moving on and getting to the good part, we'll go with that: "In hopes of having a Superman of his very own, Lex Luthor called upon his top scientist Dr. Teng to scan and replicate the hero's genetic structure. Due to complications in the construction of the carbon copy, their results gave birth to a monstrous menace, Bizarro."
Bizarro's the polar opposite of Superman. Where Superman has heat vision and freeze breath, Bizarro has freeze vision and flame breath. Best of all (or worst of all, depending on your outlook) Kryptonite gives Bizarro strength. Following this train of logic, it seems like Bizarro would also be really slow, but that's no fun.

Actually, there's a LOT of info out there. For instance, a fansite, DCUOsource.com, has an interview with the developers on the front page as well as a compendium of cited information. You have to remember, they're still in pre-alpha right now, not many games let people know ANYTHING about what they are developing. We actually know a boatload about DCUO for a game in this stage of development, and as they get closer to release, we'll learn much more.

So lemme guess, he's a villain huh?
I kind of feel bad for Bizzaro, he isn't actually evil, he's just not all there in the head. He really believes the way to save people is by destroying things. Hell, give him his own little spot of a planet, and he'll be content "saving" things, like in the animated series.

I seem to recall a Superman comic from when I was a kid all about Bizarro World. Where everyone but one guy was a superpowered idiot in tights, running around doing everything opposite of what Superman would do. Not sure when they decided he was really an experiment of Luthor.... then again, he never really made much sense.

Yeah, I thought he was from the Bizzaro Universe too. Jerry Seinfeld even explained him in one episode of the tv show lol.

eh, its based off the Superman animated series then.
Luther managed to get a sample of blood, and used it to create clones of superman he hoped to use for well, Luthery things, but the clones DNA breaks down rather quickly, and what we got was well, Bizarro. Superman actually helped Bizzaro find a safe place for him to "save" things, and all was well, until the pesky leprechaun-like being from the 5th dimension brought him back to Metropolis. I hope they don't try to make him some brain-dead evil guy though, he's one of my favorite villains because he's a unique guy.
(all if my memory serves me right, been a while since I've seen the animated show)
