New costume pieces, additional character slots, retcons and more are all being added to the Champions Online C-Store this Tuesday. Using this exchange rate chart for Cryptic Points the price of a full retcon is $12.50, which isn't too high considering that a retcon allows a player to completely remake a character from the ground up. Costume pieces seem to cost around three dollars, which seems pretty reasonable considering that the Cyborg Beast and Epic Samurai are both rather impressive looking at that price. Lastly, buying four additional character slots costs the most at 1200 points -- which looks to be about $15 or so.
Overall, the pricing is lower than what we expected for costumes. Sure, the points system isn't ideal but generally speaking there's not a lot to be overtly upset about here.

Remember folks: These are MMO's. Companies that make them have a divine right to your money, just because you are a customer who has invested time and money you have no right to complain or voice any opinion on any issue, contructive or not. Anyone who doesn't like an aspect of play simply can't of understood it right in the first place.
It's an hilarious attitude really in a darkly comic way :)) and you wonder why they need the cash so bad.... ...

I know. I'm not sure what gave you the idea that I on't understand how retcon works on the game. I've been playing since launch.

So, after all this they finally do it.
RetCon's for the cost of a monthly fee almost while still being astronomical in price in game.
Justification for huge cost in game: They don't want everyone to be able to retcon they want peoples choices to have meaning.
Cost of RetCon with real $$$: 12.50
Had assumed this was the entire goal all along, how else do you make money when your entire subscriber base has Lifetime memberships?
Now they can patch and do "Balance Changes" to powers and it will result in a free windfall of cash for them as people spec out of powers that were made useless for no other purpose then to make money!
A million things a company could do with MC's to actually improve their game and give the customers options but no, this is how they do it.
Disgusting.

biased, unbased, speculations.
the game offers full retcon with ingame resources and it is not that hard to obtain, if any player is lazy enough to buy a Cstore retcon its his problem.
As far as I am concerned they said each time we do ground breaking changes we will give a free retcon to those affected and so far they kept it and I see no reason why they will not keep it up, they have lowered the retcon cost quite drastically and no situation as the one you described (ie purposefully changing powers to force players retcon) has been made so far, if nothing else the powerhouse has been improved so you can test what you take with greater accuracy and at the moment in PTS you can instant lvl to 40 and test your hurt out with all the power sets without leaving PH.
I believe retcons are not an issue and C store is fine as is, nothing offered is out of the ordinary or gives any unfair advantage.
