Gold seller spam got you down; keeping you from purchasing Aion? Fret not, fair... uh, would be Aionites, because NCsoft is working towards fixing the solution through improvements and good will. We already know that essential 24/7 GM support is on its way, so the news that the recent 10.5.0.10 added an improved chat spam filter is delicious, vengeful frosting on our Crytek-powered cake.
By our observations, spam has been reduced to the occasional whisper or channel message from a character with an odd umlaut or whatnot in their name. Hopefully the update continues to hold water, and the gold sellers simply recede into the darkness from whence they came. Should the spammers ever return in force, we hope that NCsoft is ready to sweep an otherworldly banhammer of justice across their maw in a manner most pleasing to all of us in the community.

You keep fighting the good fight, fella. Hope you're having fun when you're not busy frothing at your mouth. Here's a newsflash though, not everyone who doesn't like the game is a angry hater and not everyone that likes the game is a fanboy. It's just that some people are able to objectively look at a game and note its flaws and are able to see them as flaws rather than try and rationalize them as something that's supposed to be in order to make the game "hard."
Isn't it annoying that these days gamers tend to like an MMO just because it's "not WoW" rather than judge the new MMO on its own merits/flaws? Anything that's an obvious bad design choice is hailed by these people as something revolutionary because it is something that WoW does not employ.

You're under the mistaken impression that I want a "full answer" from you. Nothing could be farther from the truth, I'm afraid. Going by your original post, there's nothing you can say that will either entertain me nor educate me.
It is a sad reflection of the current MMO-playerbase (or the entire gamer-playerbase if I was a bit more cynical) that anything that doesn't conform to someone's point-of-view is considered a troll or a fanboy's response. Objectivity is a thing of the past it seems.
You go on keeping comfort in the delusion that you're actually withholding something from me by not giving a "full response." I'll be waiting for the inevitable "death" report of this game due to NCSoft's horrible design and "support."

basically what mr angry said
yeah its not easy to level, and there is definitely a sizeable amount of grinding.
but this game wasn't designed to appeal to EVERYONE. thats not to say it appeals to hardcores only but they definitely make it to 50 quick.
this game is full of people who are sick of WoW's E-Z mode atm, and i'm sure will lose a few once cataclysm comes out, but they'll quickly be back.

I came and went back to wow already - to me the game just lacked any sort of substance - it really had nothing to do with the grind (but then I didn't make it past 20 where I hear it gets really horrid - when I kinda gave up).
It was boring, the controls were clunky (feels like I'm fighting the game), rubber-banding isn't fun, the playerbase is more immature than wow's (which I didn't think could be possible) and the support from ncsoft when you need help was non-existent. I won't be going past my trial sadly.
I don't know why these games (and wow is guilty of this too really) make new players suffer. All I hear about Aion is how great it is when you are x, y or z level - why not design it to be great from level 1 (actually it is great from level 1, they don't really start punishing you until like 5 or 6 when you realize how vapid it is)?

I'm waiting for a game to stop sissy footing around the issue, and start really punishing the people BUYING gold. Or find ways to address the fact that people need to buy it.
The spammers are their because it works, they're not the extent of the issue.
