We've all got our best abilities, the ones that do the most damage or heal the most or save us the largest number of headaches. We all have the armor or items or random hats or whatever that give us huge stat increases and make us almost invulnerable in most circumstances.
And then... we have the toys. The stuff that's not bad, but just... doesn't really do much of anything. The one that lets you hover when that's not actually relevant to anything except looking cool. Or the item you've been holding on to that lets you shoot non-damaging fireworks all over a room. Totally useless, of course, but always fun when you get to break it out.
What's your favorite in-game toy? Is it a piece of equipment without any useful stats but a really amazing look to it? An item that does something silly and unique? A spell that's been designed without many practical components, or one that has practical usage but generally just gets played with? When you have the downtime, what's your choice of fun little toys in your favorite game?

Fireworks from LOTRO hands down. You only get 3 per player as part of an introductory quest, and they serve NO purpose...yet I bought them for up to 600 silver/3 from the auction hall!
My character became known for lighting them up when our group would finish a particularly difficult quest! Great fun.

I really like the SWG "appearance" tab. That has to be the best customization toy ever.
I also like my assorted Starships in SWG.
Some of the stuff in LotR like the music system (as noted above) although I can't use it worth a darn.
I use to like my item collections I had on display in AC back in the day.
Most games have some kind of nerd toy but those jump to mind.

I loved the druid's Tree Form in old EQ. It was just funny to turn yourself into a giant tree. You got a few stat benefits for recovery, but really you couldn't do anything else. I don't think it worked indoors.

In Free Realms, most of the prizes you win in the packs of cards you buy are rip offs. Even things that make you burp or fart can only be used ONE time and they are gone! But somehow I got lucky and got a permanent re-use mask that lets me turn into a little goblin like creature over and over as much as I want. I love that stupid little toy!

The Sinister Keg housing decoration in LotRO. Take a drink, pass out, wake up in a random location... without any pants.

Even though they're seasonal abilities both the Rock attack and the Snowball attack in CoH are good toys. Both let you target and 'attack' your fellow players in non-pvp settings (of course they don't do any damage, but it's still fun to have snowball fights or to just throw a rock at someone who does something stupid in game). heck, the rock gets even more fun due to it being a Great Pumpkin referance in addition to a Halloween power (it also, strangely enough, is the only temp power in the game you can have multiple of at a time).

In CoH, Group Fly, which grants flight to you and nearby party members. Sounds useful, but it has a huge Endurance (blue bar) cost and a steep Accuracy penalty, and it's impractical to use across long distances because the further a party member is from the caster the slower they go, so you have to be very careful that people don't "drop out" of the area of effect (literally). Not to mention that any party members who would want to be flying more than likely have their own flight powers already.
But man, does it look cool! Nothing says "I have massive power at my disposal" like sending out small motes of blue light in all directions and causing several other super-beings in a wide area to start ignoring gravity all at once.
Also, when my Mastermind uses it, her robotic henchmen turn on flame jets from their legs to stay afloat, which is just awesome. FLYING ARMY OF ROBOTS WITH FREAKIN' LASERBEAMS.

The goblin fishing pole. A thrown stick of dynamite that causes AoE damage to unfriendly mobs but is also fun to throw at people who annoy you, even if it doesn't explode them.
In second place a bottle of alcohol you can drink then throw the empty.

The spell that makes people bow to you in EQ2. I mean, come on, the only thing better then getting people to bow to you is to force them to do so!
Forgetting the spell name, I did a search, and found that Coercers have the spell. I had the impression that the Templars have them do, but I could be wrong.
Oh, and the flaming hand of the Berserkers, allows one to display his rage, even if it does nothing!
