'It's always impressive' would have been better than 'It's never not impressive'

Or even better would have been "It's never impressive".

I am not jealous, I am not a "hater", but these games do not take real skill to level up, they only take time. You have to use a little bit of tactics of course, but it's not beyond the ability of any 10 year old to figure out even.

I am certainly not jealous of a person who has so little to do in life that they can stay online on a game that much every day.

I'm also not impressed at all. Anybody who takes the time to get there can do it. It's not an impressive thing to hurt your body and social life by playing a video game non stop in order to get your level high as fast as you can.

To me, it truly is the journey on the way.

There are many things that do impress me, but staying on a video game all day every day isn't one of them.

And I seriously do not care. Having power in a video game never has helped me in real life. I do get impressed by actual game knowledge that you learn over time and other things, but max level newbies do not impress me.

@MewMew - I completely agree, moresoe because Aion is (at last as far as PVE is concerned) mostly a grind. There's little tactics used and most, if not all, of the time spent playing was going from place to place killing things. That's not an accomplishment so much as it is a testament to just how obsessed people are with games.

I'm 27 and having a blast. First to level cap in Aion is a dubious honor at best. In a month - totally meaningless.

Meh i'm level 26 and it will take me a good month or two to get to 50. Why? because i have a life outside of aion. These people are complete twats. Why is it that they feel the need to level up so fast rather then 1) enjoying the game and 2) getting away from the pc for a while.

You know, they probably DO enjoy being better than you at Aion.

For some folks, hitting cap *is* the game. Those people rarely seem to stay around long after... no matter how good the game is. Just something I've observed.

Yes the firsts to do anything in a game are often also the first to leave.

I always feel like I COULD do it...if i liked sleep less. And, in the case of Aion, wasn't playing a healer (or solo as a healer)

I was like that a good while in MMO's. After a while I figured I missed most of the game and had to lvl an alt to really enjoy the game thoroughly. Congrats nonetheless! It's not easy getting gear when you're aways the first in that tier.

I'm more surprised it took this long. I mean the game has been out a year. Surely these people knew all the tricks and it still took them this long? Oh well, grats to them even if I think it's a silly thing.

By been out a year I mean released in Asia. I know of course the game has been out only two or three weeks in the states.

So people stay up for three days out of pure choice in the pursuit of an achievement that means nothing, and thats impressive? No. I call that insane.

Don't get me wrong... people are free to do whatever they want, but saying someone staying up for three days in a pointless rush to the level cap (some might say thereby ruining the actual intended experience) is 'impressive' and 'makes you wonder about our ability to play these games'? That's just plain silly. Such behaviour proves nothing except that these people have a lot of free time. It doesn't imply any kind of skill whatsoever.

Oh, bullshit. Lots of people have a lot of free time. Only one person can get a world first. It requires a lot of free time AND a lot of skill.

Lots of people do even crazier and "meaningles" shit all the time. Youll find them in a little book called the Guiness Book of Record. And yes, it does take skill, even if its in the form of OCD patience and dedication. Dont let your own bitterness blind you from that small fact.
