It's funny... I play on Elyos Trinel or something and I haven't had a queue since last week. It use to be over a 100 people deep with a 45 minute wait and now no wait.

What servers are still experiencing waits?

It's the European servers that are most affected by server queues at the moment. Whilst the newer servers (and the slight subsidence of people clamouring to get on at the same time) have helped, many of the servers on this side of the Atlantic are still suffering 1-2 hour long queues at peak times.

I am on Zikel, it once had 4 hour queues over 2,000 people and now there is hardly ever a wait to log in.

It did crash on Sunday night though, so maybe the pop limits are higher than they would like.

I reckon by next month though many players will have quit and the servers will be fine.

usually a crash doesn't come back with raised pop limits, but what it will do is come back with all those afk people gone, and with them i think goes the que also...

I agree, and I would imagine NCSoft are thinking along the very same lines, waiting for retention numbers post September purchases.
Which is, by my reckoning, a smart approach.

What will be interesting, is whether or not we get the content that's been alluded to us in the meantime.
Aion's lead designer believes (quote) "..that the grind is in fact their way of making the game easier to play - less complicated than a typical RPG..", which is laudable in my opinion.
Therefore, in terms of the NA launch, the server population and queuing issues may sort themselves out quite naturally when a large majority of purchasers realise that Aion in it's current state is simply a very 'grindy' Asian-esque game, and leave.

I'm on Lumiel and there are still long queue's at night. I don't bother trying to log in passed 5pm EST. But I just cancelled my account the other day so I won't have to worry about it soon. The game is ok it's just not enough to make me leave LOTRO. I can't afford to pay for two MMO's and I don't have the time to play two either. NCSoft really needs to do something about the gold spammers. I can't even read the chat because it is NON-STOP constant gold spam all the time. It's impossible to find a group or get enemy locations in chat because the wall of text scrolls non stop with advertising. Are there no in game GM's to ban accounts? There is also too much grinding. I prefer a game that I can make it to max level completely by doing quests and solo quests if possible. I'll leave the game installed on my PC and check back sometime in the future to see what content has been added to get rid of the grind.

Yea sure......also making it boring to play. Mark my words while Aion will likely do well for a while but the shelf life on grindy games is growing shorter and shorter, mmos of the future will be trying hard to find ways to keep the boring repeditive grind element down while keeping the feeling of freedom and progression.

And once they start hitting the mark its going to be the new standered.

If games like TOR, Progect Mechscape (whatever it ends up being called), Blizzards new mmo (whatever it is), and even dare I say World of Warcraft post cataclysm revamp, manage to pull off acessability AND manage to make thier leveling/progression curves fun and limit the repitition and grindy feeling Aion and games like it will be in serious trouble in the western market at least.

Why did people downgrade Crim's comments? Doesn't make sense. Maybe Massively needs to create a separate Aion site like wow dot com for the Aion fanboys to congregate and group-hug?

@pogger
It's probably got a lot to do with the poor grammar and spelling and composition of the post.

Crim - you help your cause a lot if you write in proper sentences rather than SMS-style shorthand. You say everyone else here is an "immature kid" for marking down your post, but I think it's just that people like to read posts that are written in a readable style. Nothing immature about that. In fact, peppering your posts with "cuz" "pplz" and the like actually makes you sound quite childish yourself.

I'll try this game once they come out with a free trial. Until then, it looks like a huge time-sink like WoW was for me.

I am really enjoying the game so far, but its fair to say there is grinding involved. The game is polished, gorgeous graphics and well written quest. My only problem is in the chat channels where there is endless gold spamming. Fix that or reduce it at least and its a great game. I think I will be playing this until Guild Wars 2 ( the game I am waiting for) comes out.

yes I know but as I said even if i manage my time I get 30-40 houers a month and I don´t see it worth paying about 230 Swedish kroner for if u think 30houers in one month that is about 1-2 hours a day im a full time student with no job so I have little money after paying bills food and cloth it took me 5 month of saving up for a psp and to pay for a game every month when I only spend 1-2 houers a day is a complete waste of money u gotta use your brain to stay alive. and if allot of other mmo games work with ppls buying items for money why not do it. but thats my opinion sure Aion is nice I beta tested it but it still seams like it should be Linage 3 and then there is no mmo out there that is worth paying for every month cuz all new mmo games is just a new rip off the old mmo wow was the first rip of and in my eyes wow is the worst game I even seen my whole life. And just to say this is my opinion so before some one makes any immature comments Think first what I said this is my OPINION.

Best post of the day.
http://na.aiononline.com/forums/support/view?articleID=807&

Yes their is NO customer service in Aion right now. No communication about what the hell is going on, nadda. People are still having issues getting in, Major video memory crashes for a good percent of folks. Yet no fix in sight. People have even had their accounts stolen already and again no customer service to help fix it.

Massively needs to stop kissing NC Softs butt and be objective in the news reporting. Report on what the hell is not happening. Because it's fairly obvious right now in the forums. Hell they don't even mod their own forums.

I wouldn't take it personally, Crim -- the WoW community is transitioning to the Aion community.

Sounds like a poor teenage boy, maybe you should get a job and help your family buy food and what not instead of playing mmo's, and maybe better you situation. Instead of coming here to lie about your circumstances and admit to breaking TOS. If you really cant afford 15 dollars a month you really should get off the couch and get a job.
And im sorry but no one is going to believe you are over 13 with that vocabulary, writing style, and all around idiotic comments.
No they should not have a free to play server, if you cant afford the fee then i can point you to several free to play mmo's. I hear runes of magic is actually pretty good.

@Lockgirl,

I believe his native language is Swedish (he mentioned Swedish Kroner which is their money). So I believe that is why his typing and spelling are incorrect.

Other than that, like you mentioned, there are other MMO's now that are F2P and are pretty decent. I have know a few people who enjoy games such as Runes of Magic.

Just my .02-cents
