Confirmed as being released before Dust. Suspected to be winter expansion, as it's been confirmed for release AFTER Planetary Expansion. So Dominion this winter, Summer Planetary Expansion, then winter again Incarna.

How will the players of Eve and and Dust Mercs communicate? Is it just going to be text based?

Will Dust 514 appear on PC's as well? I'd hate to have to pay xbox live and a monthly fee for it.

They've asked about the PC version right after the first announcement at GDC. Their answer was "no comment", with apparently a big grin on their faces.

A PC version seems to be in the works, but for now it's either a console exclusivity deal or simply a plan to focus on the console crowd as a new possible playerbase, where a PC version would kind of overpower the console players very early on. Cheating may also be a concern, since they need to be able to make sure that there's no aimbotting etc going on.

Depending on how serious the player in eve is, and how serious the mercs are... You can assume that communication will involve creative methods before full integration/support is realized.

This means, an EVE corporation will have at LEAST one emissary who has a live account, can sign in, and friend chat the relevant mercs with details and info. We can also assume a vise versa kinda thing where the merc group will have at least one liason who has a computer and can sign on to an eve corporations teamspeak/vent.

We can also assume, the more successful allegiances, will be the ones who seek out methods of involving one another the most. This characteristic appeals to me as it will be interesting to see how the players leverage it.
