Guessing if it was an accomplishment in WoW you wouldn't be saying the same.

I agree... an accomplishment is having responsibilities, being married, raising two children, having a fulltime job, and doing some other than being a computer troll 24/7 in a new game. BFD

and no I would not do it if able.. i like fresh air, sunshine, and a healthy, slim waistline.

In WoW, whatever, doesn't matter - rushing thru the game to be the first at anything only cheapens the experience for everyone else and is done for nothing more but for selfish reasons; to be adored and looked upon as rock stars by the unwashed, pimple faced, cellar dwelling masses.

Grats.

I'm still waiting on the first major PvP fortress battle, not one taken from the NPCs.

A real accomplishment would be trying not be to post on MMO discussion boards while you were supposed to be working to support the aforementioned family and kids, wouldn't it?

I find it amusing that people turn to what is quite a nerdy part of the internet to complain about nerds!

Seriously, I don't get this criticism, someone had to be first, is it jealousy? Doesn't this same thing happen in every game? What else should companies do, restrict the achievement to 40+ yo professionals with 2.4 children, full time employment and a spouse that despises MMOs?

Well done on that weight loss caj190, keep up the good work!

Having a level 25 character by this point isn't all that hard. There are a slew of them on all the servers already.

What makes this an achievement is the fact that taking a fortress is supposed to require a level 35 raid. This guild accomplished it with mostly level 25's. I don't care what game you're playing, if your guild is good enough to clear a dungeon that's 10 levels higher than the players, you're doing something impressive.

lol at the people taking a dump on the news, I agree they may lack what you call responsibilities but the fact of the matter is that someone would be the first to get this objective and it was them. To that I say well done and have fun :D

Good for them. Now if US-Azphel could just stay up long enough for us to level, instead of randomly crashing every hour, I can't wait to enjoy that kind of action.

Sorry, I'm getting very pissed about Azphel's lack of stability.

"i like fresh air, sunshine, and a healthy, slim waistline"

caj190 likes those things.. almost as much as he likes sitting in his mom's basement, trolling on a site about internet elf and wizard games, like the nerdiest of nerds.

That's great for them. I bet it was fun for them. If I were a part of that group I'm sure I would have had a blast, but I'd also be thinking to myself, "Now what?"...

That's an odd comment. You do not just win a fortress in Aion and sit on your laurels, because if you do you lose it to someone else...

It will be really interesting to see what unfolds from all the fortress sieges. What people have been missing in the general media is that Aion is bringing back GvG and RvR politics. At least in my opinion.

Grats to those legions who have captured a fortress so far. Now let's see who's going to take it from you! :D

You do realize this is just -one- fortress, which was taken from NPC's right?

Anyhow... grats to them but lets see how long they can defend it from us =)

Damn, here I thought Zikel had the first captured fortress (was captured about 2-3 days ago on Asmodian side).

I really love how anyone reading gaming news is considering anyone else a NERD or basement dweller. You do realize that it's possible to a have a good job, keep up with your family, maintain close relationships with friends, have other hobbies AND BE A GAMER! If you can't see how all of this can co-exist, perhaps you require more imagination and education.

Many players have replaced other forms of entertainment with gaming. It's as thought at 10PM they'd be out running a marathon or bargaining for world peace. They'd be doing whatever it is they enjoy doing in the evenings or whenever their free-times happens to occur. Perhaps instead of watching TV, chilling with a movie, talking on the phone, etc., they're now gaming. I know that's how it works for me and my friends. And I doubt we're that unique. Geez, People really need to get a grip with all the basement dweller crap. I know doctors that are playing MMOs and raiding.

I fail to see why someone else "blitzing" the content "cheapens the game for everyone else." I don't play Aion, but I honestly don't see this being a problem. In every game, there's always going to be people who blitz any new content. If a level cap is raised, they'll race to that. If a new class is added, they'll race that character to the cap. If there are new raids or the like, they'll blitz to that as well.

Here's the thing, that affects them. Not me. I don't feel "bad" because there are new Elec/Elec scrappers that are level 50 in City of Heroes. It doesn't cheapen my experience, even though mine is a measly level 14. I'm having fun with it, and I trust they had fun with theirs.

My fun in an MMO is based on what *I* do, not on whether or not a player has "beat" me to doing something. I play my pace, they play theirs.

It is worrisome though, because usually a game on release shouldn't be seeing content fall that quickly, even by the elite. It's one thing for a new instance or raid to be beaten in a mature game within a week, because they've already sunk a lot of time in learning the ins and outs of character classes and previous content. But when the game launches, and already you are seeing stuff like this happen, you wonder how much legs the content has.
