They aren't expansions by any stretch of the imagination.

They are quest chains. Period. One singular fetch quest chain, with 2 boss fights. And an extremely good reward.

In other words, it's micro transactions in disguise. RMT if you will.

FFXI community has been very, very disappointed with the "mini-expansions". The stories and cutscenes are bad. The quests are painful.

They are clearly SE taking advantage of the FFXI community for profits.

Last week they announced a new silver dog tag thingy that comes with an as of yet unannounced in-game item. Price? $125....

SE are truly the unchallenged douchebags of the MMO development world.

I dunno, the shameless whoring Turbine's currently going through with DDO is a good second-stringer, at least.

I disagree with you on DDO. When you can potentially buy everything in the store without spending a cent and by simply playing the game, I wouldn't call that "shameless whoring." I'd call it a pretty good idea.
