While grinding, listen to excellent, intelligent podcasts at radiolab.org.

If an MMO activity is so dull and un-engaging that I could be doing something else while doing it, I do something else instead. There's no point in paying good money for things that can't hold your full attention. Either play a real game, or play an MMO that's actually fun.

Lots of good ones here; drinking, working, web surfing, playing other games, listening to music, reading, watching television... But I'm surprised no one mentioned running another instance of the same game (or maybe they did, and I skimmed past) and doing something different with the other character.

Abusing a somewhat old meme:
"Yo, dawg, we've put an MMO inside your MMO so that you can play while you play!"

Yeah, not exactly accurate, but I couldn't help it.

Listen to the Radio. Perfect match. Radio 4, Radio 7, World Service, Radio 5/ Sports Extra, CBC, various Podcasts...

In life I try never to do only one thing at a time. Such a waste.

Wait, wait, wait...

Who the hell is talented enough to actually READ A BOOK while playing ANY game? That would require two independent sets of eyes and at least three arms.

I'm always at least doing a few other things while gaming, it's actually a main reason I don't want to party much because I never am just gaming. I will walk outside very often too or go afk to do things every few minutes. I will end up doing homework, cleaning up my room, talking on the phone, watching a movie, listening to music, all while playing. I'm at least always doing three things, if it's late and nobody is up to talk to, I'm playing an MMO while watching a movie and listening to the radio, or sometimes watching two movies while I play, or a TV show and a movie, etc. I am very often petting and grooming my cat or my parents' cats too or playing with a hamster while I play. I'm petting a cat and watching two movies as I write this actually :D

How the...
Amazing if you people can do all that at the same time! And watching two movies, while petting a cat and writing here... You gotta use your toes too?

I'm chatting on MSN and reading forum, maybe surfing a bit. Listening to music sometimes too. But many times that i log in, i want to get into games world. Might be that i don't even listen to in-game music. Just that clip-clop from your horse and "Raaa!" from your enemies =D

But sometimes it's just fun to listen to music, have some beer and hang around in Guild Chat or some other Channel.
