Looking for a new game to try but tight on cash? The folks over at Direct2Drive have their fifth birthday sale going on now, and what's better - they have a few MMOs in the mix this week. That's right: for less than a triskadecaccino no-whip chocolate half-caf latte with soy milk, you can score a copy of Age of Conan, EVE Online, or PlanetSide, along with one month of brand-spanking-new game time. That's a crazy good deal if you've ever thought about picking up any of these games. It's an even better deal when you consider that you can't even get one month of game time in any of them for five bucks.
What are you waiting for? Go! Get some inexpensive MMOs! Oh, also - happy birthday Direct2Drive! (And thanks for that $5 copy of Bioshock!)

AoC is only buyable in the US - damn international trading laws / companies wanting profits!
Seriously, I'd buy the D2D one if I could, party because their download is only about 14Gb rather than steam's badly-compressed 17-18gb. And at $5 for a month, i reckon it'd be worth it.

Why do you have to buy any of these? They have subscriptions, right? I don't know about any of the others, but I play EVE and you can download that for free from their site. Same with WoW, right?

A free EVE account?
EVE charges $19.99 to roll a trial account into a paid account normally, which comes with 30 days of time. WoW also requires a key purchase to roll a trial to a full account, generally $20 for vanilla or BC WoW, more if you're getting WotLK on top of it.
This is $5 for the key *and* the first month.

I, too, got EVE. Is there a Massively corporation? If not, we should totally start one.

Also people: assuming these games have invite-a-friend promotions (I know EVE does), you can easily just take this as an opportunity to get your sub for 1/3 the price, and get the other rewards.

If you already have an EVE acct can you buy the 5$ deal and use the code they give you to pay for a month?

There's more confusion with EVE. I've bought it for $5 during Steam Weekend Deal, played it occasionaly, found it fun and then my 30 days passed and I didn't look into prepaids or subscription as I was (and still am :)) busy with WAR.
Now if I understand correctly I can't renew my subscription with a cheap 1 month PLEX card (around $12 here) but have to buy other prepaid card with 2 months for around $40. Correct me if I'm wrong - I'd love to play a month of EVE soon.

Would be nice if you could get a month for $5. I just resub'd to eve on new accounts and got some characters back from a bud. Shelled out $40 when if I would have waited two weeks it would have cost me $10...

AoC has this notice.
"This product is only available for purchase in the United States and Canada. This purchase is not eligible for refunds."
But I tried it anyway until when you need to put your card. Then this error message came up. I'm from SEA. T_T
Error: Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures is Country restricted on your IP.

Finally some decent competition against Steam's already awesome deals. I love capitalism.
