Look at the figures. 600,000 users spending over a billion dollars. That's more than the GDP of Rwanda or Mozambique, countries with far more people than Second Life. As I've said on my blog - anyone who thinks government won't soon take notice of such a moneymaking tool is painfully naive.

The USA IRS already has. Their recommendation to congress is that existing the existing tax code already covers all of this and that no additional measures are required other than an information program to inform people better about their tax obligations.
