You would have preffered to have 6 thousand people in the starting areas at the same time? That would have hampered EVERYONE that played, their methods although draconian, work and are done for the greater good.

NCsoft, in restrospect is doing everything right when it comes to the launch. (Ques, forced balance) I logged in exactly as the servers where coming up and the initial lag was horrible. It got better but I just couldnt hunt for the irina I needed for a quest or to level my gathering. Logged off and rerolled on new character later, the starting area was pleasant, I could farm the items fine and went trough all the quests without a waiting line, this was like 2 hours after the launch in Azphel, one of the most populated servers.

I played all afternoon today, no ques and plenty of people on. Latency was 120ms-160ms and I live in Puerto Rico. Also, people wherent asking for the damn fossil or tutty! Thats always a plus!

You can argue all you want about NCsoft failing, but for all entended purposes, This HAS been the best MMO launch in the last few years, if you are nearsighted enough to not get past the first few hours of the server launch, then you shouldn't be playing MMOs at all.

Ugh, hack//SIGN. Big caveat on watching it, 90% of it is people walking around and talking to each other, and maybe 10% of it is action that may advance the plot. It's not as bad as hack//roots, where 90% of it is people leaning over the bridge at Mac Anu looking down at the water and talking to each other, but it's pretty bad.

If you want to give it a try the least painful one is hack//gu for the playstation 2. Be prepared for grinding and repetition that will make aion seem easy mode though.

Finally got on. Now I'm getting disconnected from the server about every five minutes. Anyone else having this issue?

Summon Cthulu, a saddle and a jetpack.

Saddle Cthulu and fly him to the headquarters of Aion and demand Cheesecake.

I wouldn't mind the Q if you could keep your place in line if you get disconnected. Sometimes shit happens when waiting for 2 1/2 hours that you can't help and you have to wait all over again.

Also getting disconnected in game means you then have another 2 1/2 hour wait. That just blows.

Um, you do. If you are playing and you get disconnected from the game, if you log back on to that server (and not try another server first) the game will let you bypass the queue and get back on immediately.

I don't think I have ever seen a bunch of grey happy voters as Aion fanboys.

I anxiously await the news in a few months when the hype has gone and people judge the game on the gameplay.

Will it be a huge success or will we see server closures.

Go on, vote me down fanboys you know you want to.

It's true, you can't say anything negative about the game no matter how true it is or your comment turns grey. A lot of people waited 5-7 hours to log in, that's not acceptable, and to say it's "not that bad" is seriously very much a fanboi comment. People who are upset about it get their comments turning grey. It's unfortunate. The launch did not go perfect like they all claimed it would. Servers crashed, people couldn't play once they got on some servers, tho honestly to be fair most MMO starting areas are near impossible to play the day of opening unless they are instanced. But the terrible wait times were just horrible and it seems as if Aion wasn't really prepared for it. Maybe they just should have scaled the number of in game channels up for a while. I like the channel system anyway, you can scale it up and down without having to deal with merging whole servers later if the population drops. The game already has a built in channel system so they may as well scale it up a bit.
