There are tons of MMOs out there with /dance moves in them. Don't believe us? Search "mmo dance" on YouTube and you'll get an idea of all the various different ones out there. Sometimes they're easy to source, like all of the ones in World of Warcraft. Other times, they seem to have gone off and done their own thing, as perhaps with the video above from Aion.
With that said, some games do /dancing better than others - at least according to players. This morning we thought we'd ask you - which game do you think has the absolute best /dance emotes? Which has the absolute worst? If there are several different dances your character can do like City of Heroes and even Fallen Earth, which one is your absolute favorite? Alternately, if you can't decide, feel free to list all your favorites in the comments below!

The best dances are in Second Life mainly as it is a sandbox game and you can have professional animators and motion capturers create and sell extremely realistic fluid motions.

Fallen Earth is the best I've seen so far, no contest. Where else can your character do the Pee Wee Herman dance, the Pulp Fiction dance, the Thriller Dance, the Chicken Dance, and the Night At The Roxbury dance? And over a dozen more.

I'd argue that some of Aion's dances are pretty darn sweet... Especially with the girls in short skirts! (That'd be all of them then??)

Yeah, SWG is a great one for dance moves... but mostly just for the sheer number available & possibilities with flourishes... but then that was all in the Entertainer class.
So for 2nd best, or 1st best of emotes not constrained to a specific class (although a lot were vet rewards), I'm sorry, but it's gotta be Tabula Rasa...

OK, OK, it was a dev-only dance until the game was closing & they gave it to everyone, but the game had some really great character animations, and we did like to throw a lot of dance parties in that game... for example...

And we're sure that if the game were to go on longer, we were close to convincing them to also give us /chickendance and /triller emotes :)

Awww are you kidding me? With it's abiltiy to synchronize dances.. plus particle effects for Special Edition buyers.. plus unique dances for each race.. no question about it, Guild Wars has the best dances of any MMO I've played.. ;)

I looked up Fallen Earth dancing. It wins hands down. SWG had some great dance emotes back in the day but any game where you can do the Thriller dance wins easily.

Absolutely SWG. If you ever read some of the high level entertainer guides, there were some seriously involved discussions of dances, coordinated with music, utilizing multiple flourishes, interrupting other flourishes, changing dance styles....
I mean, really - in most games it's a /command. In SWG it was an entire skill tree, and now an entire class!

Lord of the Rings Online has some pretty good dances. /dance_man looks like the safety dance, or the kind of dance you do if you signed an abstinence pledge. Of course, the best dance is standing next to a cliff and using /dance_hobbit to dance on air.
