Massively.com needs to be renamed "News about Eve Online that most readers don't understand nor care about with the occasional post about a different MMO.com"

hmm that might need to be shortened.

Not quite true. Massively covers a lot. CCP is just more active with their game than most of their peers are with their own games. Excluding the editorials or guides, which I believe are valuable to a lot of people even when they may not always be valuable to me or you, the articles here at Massively aren't contrived and are generally accurate representations of what's going on in the MMO world.

This past few weeks has been a flurry of info streaming out of CCP in regards to their new console MMO, expansion, and PvP tournament. It's no wonder they monopolized the news. Tell me, what other MMO out there presented nearly as much information? What other MMO out there compares in this regard?

That's right, losing the tournament makes you the best, right Jason?

In this case, Pandemic Legion actually is the best. They always bring their A-game no matter the fight.

My corp recently reset them, and we've had some awesome skirmishes. Those guys are definitely on the top of their game.

It was a great tournament this year. CCP's coverage and videos of the fights on youtube are first rate too.

Absolutely awesome tournament. Kudos to CCP for running it so well, and kudos to PL for absolutely owning across the board. The SB setup was scarily dominant.

Was good but I just wish Pilot skill could mean he could take on two of the same types of ships if he's that much better. All the time if you had 2 tengu's vs just one then the one would always lose. Wish the game had like WASD controls or something to dodge fire so more pilot skill comes into it. Would be well kool seeing like a Crow take on a battleship cause he's hitting the weakest part of the ship or whatever.

There is different types of skill than just aiming and dodging. I like eve because I do not have to dogfight. I did not like what I played in the jumpgate evolution beta , but maybe you will like that game better.

1 tengu could win against 2 tengus if the solo one outrange the other 2.

A lot of the matches is won or lost according to the target calling of the fleet commander in the early part of the matches.

EVE ships aren't agile fighters...you meant to be commanding a ship with thousands of crew members, not dogfighting. EVE PvP has always been more about strategy, setup and planning, not reflexes.
Although small ships can do well with manuverability agains larger ships.

You can't possibly expect to dodge is a EVE class ship right?

thay are not fighters they are big ships even the frigates are that frigates not fighters, drones are the only ships in EVE lore that are fighter class ships and could do good high speed manoeuvring.

As is EVE places you in the position of commanding a ship, you are the captain and your role is a management one, direct course, command fire, overseer shields and repair, it actually does quite a good job at giving that feel.

The tourney is great, unfortunately it resembles nothing of day to day fights, especially from the victors.

The Eve PvP tournament this year was absolutely amazing. Widescreen SD and HD real-time streamed video. Awesome play by all teams, really shows off how fun Eve is. Great job CCP for taking gaming to the next level for large-scale thinking mans PvP. Undock and we will take yo shiz! >=)

I was referring to Eve Online, not Dust. I think I've counted over 10 posts solely about the alliance tournament alone. There is definitely a need for more variety.

@Grey,

Here's an idea: If you don't want to read about EVE, then don't read the articles about EVE.
