I firmly believe that the reason, maybe the ONLY reason, why EVE is successful is that they were profitable at 50,000 subscriptions. Six years ago, the game was little more than TradeWars with plastic-looking spaceships ... but it was science fiction, it was an MMO, and it was profitable. Which meant that rather than laying people off, they were still investing in it. And they still are, six years later, and it's in the top 5 subscription MMOs in the west. I'm still waiting for any other company in the MMO space to learn from their example. (Well, other than Jagex, of course.)

My corp and I have gotten very excited about the smoother introduction into 0.0 that Dominion hopes to provide. And I'd love to see more details about what the social networking stuff will provide for corps before I break down and build a lot of infrastructure for us, because the promise here has kept me hanging on thus far.

I'm sorry but when has a shooter ever fitted a console better ffs, shooters have always and will always be better on pc and CCP really should at least bring out a pc version of dust so that the rest of us eve players can join in while using the best control method available namely keyboard and mouse...

Shooters fit the console better in the sense that they're easier to market, easier to sell, and easier to make some money off of than most any other type of game on the console.

It's a smarter safer bet for investors to swallow when its tied up with an overall ambitious project like DUST.

MMOs have never been big on consoles, hopefully some of the new ones coming out will change this, but shooters have always been the most popular on a console, making that the logical choice for CCP to try getting into on consoles, and making that work with EVE Online. The idea itself sounds great if they can make it work, especially if it allows me to network on my PS3 and play with my 2 friends on there computer.
