Just to clarify, I immediatly called about the CC when I got my account back, so it was taken off the same month. I wasn't about the risk getting felony charges.

On another note, to the guy saying it was the authors fault. I wasn't doing anything I shouldn't have been. I don't bot, buy gold, buy leveling etc. I don't even go to those sites. Furthermore, I don't go to any sketchy sites at all.

I have 2 firewalls, an updated kapersky, spyboy: search and destroy. The only difference between the authors story and mine? I didn't get an e-mail from blizzard because the 4 times within 2 months I was hacked (while waiting on an authenticator), the hacker would hack my e-mail account at the exact same time, removing the e-mail from blizzard saying that my account had been changed.

Hackers suck, sometimes you can do everything right and still get hacked. I agree some people don't protect themselves, but only an idiot thinks they're completely protected against hackers.

Regarding keeping your computer clean, I find it useful to install VirtualBox and use a VM in that to do things that may be problematic, or just to test things out. It's a free VM application, like VirtualPC or maybe Parallels and it works fairly well.

You can't get "HACKED" on WoW unless you are a complete moron. First of all, to not have any computer security at ALL. With all the accounts I have and as much time as I've played on WoW I"ve never once been "HACKED". People just use this as an excuse because they give their friends their account info to log in and farm gold or honor for them, then later on when they quit their stuff gets jacked. =) SCRUB

Ok, you can keep thinking that, or you can believe me when I say:

1. I run anti-virus.
2. I run spyware protection
3. I have a firewall.
4. My account always stays with me, due to the nature of my work. I can't afford giving my password out to someone else, lest they pretend their me and screw up my reputation.
5. My account was inactive when it was broken into. I had no will to go back and play World of Warcraft, which many people around me knew to be true. (I broadcasted it over Twitter.)

So, hey, go right ahead and think I'm a lying moron who doesn't know her head from her keyboard. [sarcasm]I obviously got this job here because I don't know crap about MMOs or computers. In fact, I haven't played an MMO in my life. All that stuff I say about old games like Underlight or Ultima Online or EverQuest is all me making stuff up.[/sarcasm]

Yah, obviously you don't if you got "HACKED" I mean come on seriously (as my friend said while we laughed over how hilarious this subject was) who actually "HACKS" wow accounts? No one. You know why? They get caught almost instantly. IPs are tracked, secret answers and questions can't be changed. It was 1 of 2 things. You either gave out the info like I already said, and just hide behind your lies as every other female. Or someone knew a good amount of stuff about your RL. Ex: your secret Q - Dogs name? Oh that's a hard one. And the fact that recovering accounts by calling blizz is easier than baking a pie. A little something I like to call SOCIAL ENGINEERING. So stop your big wiggly jiggly blabber mouth, stop talking to people who you think are your friends over the internet, go outside, stop playing crappy MMOs (or talking about them for that matter) and get a real job, real friends, and stop QQing about how bad you are at RL and games through reviews/blogs. Conversation OVER. =) Love you cutie pie

I'll just end this with, "It's apparent that you don't read this column often."

Lol. Just, lol.

lulz @ Seeker. L2English Plx? ANd L2Read. "Tell me how an IP can be instantly tracked?" I said they get caught almost instantly, I did not state that IP's are tracked instantly, and that was a figure of speech you fucking ignorant fool. Go look at your dictionary a little more before attempting to troll, or how about 4chan. You fuckers know nothing about hacking, social engineering, phishing, or anything. Go do some research and shut the fuck up. Game set match. Goodbye. =P

Oh and as for you seraphina, your just another fail review/blogger bitch like I said before, get a real job you j00b, and stop with the fail games. I've cone and put my 2 vents in and I"m done now, just wanted to demoralize and piss you off which I've succeeded, have a good life.
