There are two distinct versions of Kythos Village, over and above instancing because of population.
Snow side is where anyone who hasn't finished the Misery Peak instance/quest line is, with sunny side being where those who have finished the quest line end up.
It's a difference that trips a lot of people up when they're trying to group, because technically they're not the same zone.

I know it was that way back in July, anyway. If it is no longer an issue, that is a very welcome change.

I ran into that last night - from the sunny version, you just need to go to the docks and back

Like you all mentioned, there are essentially 2 or 3 version of Korthos Village:
1) Snowy Korthos - Have not finished Misery's Peak Quest Line or have not Skipped the tutorial
2) Sunny Korthos (Have not Been to Stormreach) - finished Misery's Peak or Skipped the Tutorial. You can still group with those who are on snowy Korthos to do quests, but you will not be able to see them in the Village itself. But once you get into the quest or the explorer zones, they will be on the same map as you.
3) Sunny Korthos (Have BEEN to Stormreach) - finished Misery's Peak Quest Line and traveled to Stormreach (and then back to Korthos) you can only group with people who have been to Stormreach.
