Thanks for another great article Brendan! Always look forward to Eve Evolved. This won't be hugely helpful to me, but it's still a great read.

Y'know, the ultimate EVE PvP tournament would let you know in advance who your opponent is, say a week or so. Then let the sabotage begin.

To me, that would not be an honourable way to fight. I guess I see a pvp match as a joust where honour counts as much as winning, but each to their own.

The one problem with the high-sec flagging idea is that many of those interested in pvp tournaments are pirates and they have low sec status.

This would imply you have to have the tournament in low sec somewhere.

Also, even a high sec tournament can be ruined by "spectators" bumping and interacting with a player. I think at the highest priority is secrecy of where and when the fight takes place.

Another option is wormhole space. (for those really important matches).

But even with that, as always, a big concern is travel time leading to no shows.
