Here's hoping Bethesda wins the lawsuit. I think they could do a much better job with a fallout MMO than masthead would.

Gotta agree with that, loved whatever the guys at Bethesda put out since Terminator: Future Shock.

Was that like the first FPS with WASD+mouselook? :D

Interplay is in the wrong. Their time is well and truly up. I'm gonna have to side with Bethesda on this one.

Bathesda ruined Fallout for people who enjoyed the first two. At this point, I don't trust Interplay with it either. I dont think either company should make it, or even if it should be made at all.

Quite a sweeping generalization there. Is there anyone else you'd like to speak for while you're at it?

Oh, here we go. I guess I'm not allowed to have an opinion. This is where the words "I don't think" and "I don't trust" balance out the sweeping generalization and point your average, rational reader to the conclusion that I also believe the first sentence is my opinion. Granted, I should probably not expect people on the internet to be anything but irrational fanboys.

So, do you have any syntax or grammatical issues you want to bring up now?

@Kdolo

Just avoid using the word "people" where you should have just put "me" and you will be golden. For the record I loved the first 2 Fallout games, but Fallout 3 is a freakin gem imo and my favorite of the series thus far. But your oppinion is completely valid and I wish they would remove the "vote this comment down" option.

I have been hopeing all along that Interplay would drag their feet so Bethesda could step in and do the mmo version.

You were much more insightful when were trolling Champions Online articles. Granted that isn't saying much.

Well to be honest while Fallout 3 was a good game in many ways it was dumbed down a huge amount, compared to Fallout 1 and 2.

I hope Bethesda wins this. I've loved all of the games that Bethesda has made, an MMO made by them could be pretty awesome.

Give it up Interplay.

You might get big sales on the name initially, but face it, the mass of people would play the game thinking they are getting Fallout 3 MMO. When you can't deliver you'll have a failure on your hands.

The old guard had more than their fair share of time and they look to, currently, be in direct breach of contract.

It doesn't matter who anyone thinks is the best arbiter of the IP but rather who owns the legal rights to it. (once again the old guard had more than a chance)

There were other games than just Fallout 1, 2, and 3. Some serious crap is layered in between there and we shouldn't forget that. (none of which was headed by Bethesda)

This is a case of stupid people not securing their IP. I know it's harsh, but yes stupid. I wouldn't ever sign away something which I created. Would you?

Interplay had their chance and they squandered it horribly. Bethesda released a Fallout skinned Elder Scrolls which is both buggy and awesome like all of their open-world games but at least they actually tried and succeeded. (and numbers wise it was well beyond the previous owners)

So yeah it really sucks that Interplay lost it but it's their own damn fault.

Bethesda is almost certain to win this, whether you like Fallout 3 or not.

"Granted, I should probably not expect people on the internet to be anything but irrational fanboys."

…This is why you are not taken seriously. Maybe you were typing quickly, who knows, but you are logically included in this group because you are on the interweb. Yet, you are not a fanboy, as you so desperately need to point out. See the problem?

Even though I would rather have an Elder Scrolls MMO. I still side with BethSoft becuase Interplay should have ether made the MMO or gave it up.

You snoose or loose in the gaming industry.

As you can see by the following link to the Interplay V13 boards, development on this game has been on time and within the limits specified by the original contractual agreement.

http://interplay.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=7

Masthead and Interplay are well on their way with this one.

Bethesda, IMHO, DID destroy the original IP with their Oblivion clone, and I (for one) am quite excited to see what Masthead and Interplay can come up with.

Long Live New Reno!

As an addendum to my own comment,....

This FRIVOLOUS lawsuit on Bethesda's part is just a scratching at an agreement that they thought would never be honored in a million years.

It's really too bad that Interplay snuck in and surprised them. Now Bethesda is playing in the play ground, watching someone play with a toy that they gave away FAIR AND SQUARE.

Suck it up, Bethesda. Grow up you pack of screaming, pathetic babies.
