I was actually going to ask in the comments before on why there was zero info about GW2 from PaX2k9 considering ArenaNet was going to visit. No one seemed to ask Anet any more questions and prod more inspite of lack of concrete details. Heck I would settle for when the art book was going to be sold.

So basically they're going to retcon Glint's story? What about Kuunavang?

I suppose they at least did themselves a favor by not having a dragon at the heart of Nightfall, though at the time I found that thematically idiotic, missing the oppurtunity to dovetail the demi-god dragons with the demi-god... Well, ex-humans?

I had kinda wondered how they were going to fit Glint and Kuunavang into the whole "Dragons are an ancient evil" thing, kinda had hoped for better then a standard issue retcon, especially as Glint was probably my favorite character (hey, she lives in a grain of sand in a desert, now that's someone who values privacy!) in the entire series.

Then again, I should know better. Neither lore nor storytelling were ever GW's or Anet's strong suit.

On the other hand, it does make you feel a bit better about killing Glint every time you went for a Protector or Guardian of Tyria title!

They're not retconning Glint, they're promoting her; giving her tale new twists and thus expanding her role in the series (and she was already rare being a survivor of the transition from GW to GW2).

Honestly I don't know how anyone can impune depth of lore and storytelling over the revelation that an enigmatic NPC might *shock horror* have been other-than-truthful when describing herself as agent of the gods and shepherd of humanity.

I fear we're all doomed to another generation of 15ft tall glowing-eyed death-metal lunatic antagonists if there's outrage over the slightest deviation from "BWA HA HA, WITNESS MY OBVIOUS VILLAINY" narratives.

Zzzzz Lore..... blabla dragons bla bla...... I only start caring about the lore if I can enjoy the game and for me to can enjoy it I gonna see some real gameplay videos... Guild wars for me was a sad grind fest and a waist of money in the end they now gonna come with some real game and cut the instant crap!

Huh, that's the Jeff Grubb that worked on AD&D stuff back in the eighties? I had no idea!
