About the game. It has a Resident Evil feel to the cinema, which is totally cool. However if a world is swamped with friends/allies it takes away from some of the tense momments, which sort of seems to be the goal of Secret World... at least forom the cinema. I'm going to add it to my watch list though.

As for those hating on Funcom know this... they are under new management. Almost everyone has said that AoC is a good game now. I think they learned alot from AoC's launch and they fixed it with AoC. Now if they carry that onto another game I actually will trust Funcom more than I trust Mythic at this point.

AoC was a fun game until it ran out of content.

I simply love it. Whatever the quality of the game's going to be, Funcom knows how to make exciting trailers and an excellent story that sucks you right in.
I'm really looking forward to this. Getting tired of the traditional fantasy mmo's!

Looks good, however after AoC any Funcom title I treat with suspicion. Here's to hoping that prove their current reputation wrong.

The first trailer was Dragon, this one's Templar. Illumati next probably.

Have anyone actually noticed there's a beta sign-up after you get to know which faction you'll belong to?

There is a nice contest at their site http://www.darkdaysarecoming.com/

Also I think i figured the symbols. If they are numbers, like they look from the "counting", you can figure out the numbers. I believe its counting down time, and if my guess is correct its 1203 days 08 hours 23 minutes and some seconds now.

That would mean that something happens in ~3,3 years

If its launch, wouldnt get my hopes up on game footage any time soon..;)

Of course I might have figured it all wrong and this post goes into the F-files.

The date is December 21, 2012 - the end of days according to the Mayan calendar - used heavily as a plot device in the game so far

Preserving the atmosphere and overwall suspension of disbelief is paramount to horror/dark games. How they're gonna manage that in a mmo crowded by players (as Nobs pointed out), is probably their greatest challenge, even more so than getting game mechanics perfect.

Othar than that, I'm hooked.
