Why hasn't massively done a story on all the problems Champions Online has been having? Lag, server issues, performance problems, unscheduled maintenance, official site being down? The forums have been full of problems with some over 600 replies in less than a 24hr period.

Wut?

Lag? Had none.

Server Issues? I think there was about 10 minutes one time that the chat server and zoning server didn't work, but that's it.

Performance problems? Two systems and both have buttery smooth performance. Both use Nvidia GTX 275's.

Unscheduled Maintenance? Never noticed. The servers have been up 100% of the time I have wanted to play. I have played every minute I'm not at work or asleep since head start.

Official site being down? Hardly news worthy since the site is fine 95% of the time.

Forum full of whiners? Welcome to MMO.

Welcome to the start of another MMO. Oh no!

Most MMO's have a rocky first couple weeks. Its no excuse and companies should prepare for this but at the same time no matter what you do it seems to have problems.

Cant always have a perfect experience with these things and they are still trying to get everything sorted out. Hopefully STO will have a better start.

They just need to get more beta or alpha players to get things going.

Because video game journalism isn't in the business of pissing off their sources. This isn't the Bill Moyers Journal. MMOs get a grace period from video game sites for at least a couple months (in perpetuity if it's mmorpg.com). If you really want the dirt on this game seek alternative sources. Or wait a few months. By the end of the year it'll be a success that stands on its own merits so sites like this won't need to sugar coat everything. Or it'll be such a failure that the developers will take any publicity.
