One tip to make the most out of your paycheck: Don't buy unfinished products.

You should try an MMO sometime. They're fun.

And if buying a video game eats up your paycheck then I suggest you upgrade your job to something that pays more than $50/week like scrubbing toilets or collecting pop cans.

Exactly if 15 bucks a month hurts you that bad then you have bigger issues.

Wow, that didn't take long at all! lol

I was just poking fun... no need to get your spandex all up in a bunch (see what I did there? Ha :P).

Money's not an issue for me, I just thought I'd offer a (sarcastic, key word here) tip to others. I could tell you what I do and how much I make, but no sense comparing e-peens (and I wouldn't wanna have to put your daddy to shame, lol). Obviously, the estrogen levels are way too high around the CO community right now, so I think it's best if I leave you guys alone for a bit, lol.

My fault, didn't mean to pinch a nerve, carry on folks.

If MMO's were 'finished' on release day I'd have to find a new hobby. Its the ever changing world that makes me love the genre.

Mac, dont get into pissing contests with fanfolks, you will lose. Having to explain sarcasm or any type of humor not in keeping with these type folks line of thought is a losing proposition. People with an IQ higher than 3 understood your meaning while the folks still trying to figure out what their thumb is for simply didnt get it.

It was a good joke and true about this MMO, let it go, just, let it go........

I will say this to those that didnt understand. The game is trash.

Are any of the "new" MMO's actually remembering the second M in there stand for Multiplayer? As in "people play this online to play in groups"...

Perhaps all tactics has gone out the window in favor of 'EVERYONE SHOOT IT NOW!"

Oh, thank god someone else thinks like that as well!

I've been lamenting the wave of Massively Single-Player Online Games (MS-POGs, you heard it here first) we seem to have these days.

"Is it soloable?" - just sounds like cursing to me, I love games that promote (or even force) grouping, games where you must co-operate with strangers in order to succeed, instead of solo hours and hours of disposable "kill 10 foozels" quests.

Sorry for going off-topic like that - I've no idea if Champions does this or not, this was just more general observation of current trends.

I'm off my soapbox now...

I was grouped for about 10 hours of play yesterday. The 'run for help' mechanic made it very challenging and a load of fun. We had a tank (me), a healer/buffer support, a CC support, and a DPS character. We all used the appropriate roles and we all had a great time.

The game actually scales to the group rather well even on the open shared maps. Its the first MMOG I've ever seen that can do that. The CC support player had the job of trying to stop the ones that would run for help. It was cool because the MOB would announce it first then run off toward the next closest group shouting the whole time that they need help.

@SgtBaker

Champions is quite solo-able, but the launch day patch did nerf the extreme ease of it a bit.

I have seen quite a few people wanting to group and just mission together too.

I'll also add that the "run for help" mechanic is nicely triggered. When fighting mobs solo, they almost never trigger the run for help. When you bring in a grouping of 3 or 4 people, be prepared to get multiple parties in a single pull thanks to the AI going, "Hey, there's more than one of you. You need a challenge!"

Once again, another one of the unsung improvements in Champions.

Well, I personally wish they would atleast put some incentive for us to group a little more. I have grouped here, and it does not feel all that special, CoX grouping was amazing, so was LoTRO.

I'm not ignorant to the ever-changing and constantly evolving nature of MMO's.

When I say finished, I mean what's considered "launch-ready". I'm not implying a game has to be 100% complete and should never need a patch before it hits retail. I thought that was needless to say, but I guess I have to thoroughly explain the obvious.

Now, there's a big difference between "launch-ready" and "blatantly unfinished". The fact that most can't tell the difference is a sad state of affairs for gamers, as it perpetuates the practice, and also serves to lower the bar for what "launch-ready" means...

But hey, enough derailment, it was just a bit of mockery, lets get back to "srs bsns" :)

Its fun, thats all I really ask for at launch. When its not fun it sits in a box, as long as I get my moneys worth :) Single player games last me about 3 weeks so if I play a mmo for 3 weeks I dont feel I lost anything

Today was fun, a good few people realising they needed to team up. Lucky for me my main character didn't suffer to badly from the nerf bat and along with a few others we ran through a mission or three. I'm not going to say the patch was completely positive, because it was launched on the players with no warning and zero testing. But I also believe not everyone can be a tank and this patch has helped define roles a little IMO.

not a new improvement, other games, such as Dark Age of Camelot, had the number of players in the group determine how many monsters would come when pulled.

Despite launches patch it still is quite a good game, worthy of checking.

the patch did devastate its so called soloability for quite some portion of the player base thought.

most of us wait for a fix.
