I wonder if they're excited.

No idea if Funcom is excited but I am. XD Lots of crazily talented artists in la belle province (Quebec) cannot wait to see what comes out of this studio.

I do find it a bit odd Age of Conan is moved there though? Or will this new studio just help the existing one?

Eh, I live in Montreal and I`m all for the crazy subsidizing they've been doing here (hello Ubisoft, Eidos, and countless others), but Funcom is just plain meh. As in, whatev. Wasted capitals, if you ask me.

How do you say "fail-com" in French?

If it brings jobs for the people of Montreal then kudos.. but Funcom has lost all worth with me after the fiasco with AoC.

So just because AoC had a bad START you will not even consider looking at The Secret World witch are going to be awesomeand this time they'll make sure it's done before releasing.....

I started to play AoC again last month.... AoC is really good now and better than every other MMO out there...

I agree with you - I recently went back to take a look after reading about all the good stuff they've done with the game - and lo and behold - it's really solid, good, fun MMO now - had it been in this state during release it would have rocked everyones world.

It still requires a decent computer to run - it's nothing for the normal "family wow-computer", but it's not ridiculously superheavy and buggy like it was at launch.

Forget whatever bad experiences you had during the launch and give it a go.

Really? What makes this time so special? People said the same thing about AoC...Anarchy Online had a bad launch etc, all the people were saying "Oh AoC won't have a bad launch ...this time they'll make sure it's done before releasing....."

I hope and pray that The Secret World will be awesome. I also hoped and prayed that Aoc was going to be awesome...I'm STILL hoping and praying that SOMEDAY AoC will be awesome...

2 bad MMO launches is enough for me to stay away from a company and write it off.

Bad MMO launches are painful and traumatic.

Just to clarify, they don't speak French in Canada, they speak Canadian french, or what in french we call québecois. Just picture a french child with a speaking disorder, speaking english, and eating at the same time, and voilà you see what it's like for people who speak proper french to understand them.

Hello. As a French Canadian myself let me just let you know what you wrote is seriously insulting.

Proper french? From where exactly? Couldn't be from France as most of their french is sadly anglicized and Quebec had to send them a petition some 10 years ago asking the "French" to better protect their language.. Let me ask when you park your car do you say in the parking or stationement?

Some of us have very strong accent depending on which part of eastern Canada we're from because of the mix of English, Irish, Scottish and French speaking people who had to live together on the islands and further north, Acadians have a very interesting history I suggest you look it up before spewing insults.

@ Lyra

Wow, not only did you manage to make yourself sound ignorant, but a hater as well. I know French-bashing is so cool on the English-speaking interwebs, but perhaps you should try to keep your bigotery to yourself.

Funcom always had great artists (esp. musicans) and the worst programmers. TSW won't be different, because AoC showed that the company is unable to learn from theire failures.

AoC is pretty dam fine now. The client is 100% stable. Dx10 for me works 100% and I am having a blast (and have been since launch). Only current bug of note is that Seiges bug out but that is being worked on.

Since Craig M joined as the new Director AoC has made the right changes. I honestly believe with him behined the helm AoC is only on the way up (and all the nameless dev's too - can't forget about them).

The dev process/progress IS slow but I have a feeling of confidence with them that I have not had with all the other mmo's I have played previously.

AoC rocks!!!

Just a poor start?! Are you kidding me?! They released a game that was not even 50% finished and had so many bugs that no pest control company could ever kill them all, then blew smoke up the customers asses for months, and laughed all the way to the bank. The game sold over 1.2 million copies and they had near 1 million subscribers.. and now... under 100,000 thousand. numbers don't lie.

Release a game that is complete shit and burn your customer base REALLY helps with selling your game later or marketing a new one! The Market is about trust and competition. Funcom lost tons if not all of its trust with hundreds of thousands of gamers over AoC. Now the MMO market is flooded and will be flooded with more and more MMO's to try. If Funcom wants to compete they need to release a damn near perfect MMO. Yet people do not trust Funcom... Anarchy Online and Age of Conan are a piss poor track history. People do not like to pay for "Beta Games".

BTW - I returned to AoC too.. and there is nothing special about it. Seiges and PvP, the main stay of the marketing of AoC, is still a joke. Warhammer Online does a better in that realm.
