I hope they get a publisher soon or decide on digital distribution self publishing route.

If this game can deliver a split between space and planet gameplay, with REAl time (Think Freelancer) controls, EVE has some *serious* competition.

I've been following this game for a while, and I gotta tell ya, EVE has nothing to worry about.

Not saying BP is gonna be bad, on the contrary, I can't wait for it.

But BP is to EVE as Hellgate was to mainstream MMOs (hopefully minus the epic fail, lol), i.e. apples and oranges.

BP is being classified as a "twitch action MMO" whereas EVE is anything but. As it stands, it will sport an "atmospheric" flight model (disappointed about that, as I much prefer Newtonian or at least near-Newtonian flight models, but looking forward to it nonetheless), it will be heavily instanced, and it will lack several of the standard MMORPG elements, even things like a player economy (though it will still have a traditional leveling system).

If you learn more about BP, you'll come to realize that the *only* thing BP has in common with EVE is that they're both set in space. That's it.

In terms of space games, BP would be far closer to a game like X-wing than Freelancer.

The only forseeable competition to BP right now would be the (hopefully) upcoming JGE, but even that differs in many ways.

Anyway, though many won't consider it a "true" MMO (whatever the hell that means), it looks like loads of fast-paced shoot-em-up fun. Lookin' forward to it!
