Anti-crwal is correct the sith from most star wars lore are not "evil" they are just doing what they believe is best for the galaxy through the most efficient means possible (complete domination). The beurocracy of the republic has made it impossible for justice to be served and the sith know how to fix that :)

Uh...the Sith are very much moustache-twirling villains. Everything they've done revolves around sadism and cruelty. Especially in KOTOR.

I expect Sith Warrior will be a popular class -- and I'll probably play one at some point, too, because I love how BioWare is developing individualized stories for each class that the player can even further individualize based on the choices you make.

But, as of right now, Sith Warrior is at the bottom of my list of the four classes announced thus far -- not because it sounds like a bad class but because the others sounds so much better (to me, anyway).

I have to say I was a bit surprised by the look of the stylized of the MMO --especially when the character emerged from the building. It all looked a bit more "cartoony" and two-dimensional than I expected and will take some getting used to, I think. The distant landscape of Hutta looked like a (well-)painted backdrop for a stage play, very pretty and all but lacking any sense of depth. The BioWare rep explained and defended this "look" and I can certainly live with it, but still...

I still think SWTOR is going to be very fun to play, graphics notwithstanding.

if u played kotor, u would know that u dont have to be evil to play sith or good for jedi, you can be on either side and your character changes depending on the actions u take.

They said it would be similar in this game.

I've played both games and in both games going full Dark Side required that your character act that part of a deranged murderous lunatic, to say the least.

I liked the KOTOR games, but I always did feel that Bioware fails at delivering a good---evil spectrum. Everything in KOTOR is either blind charity or mindless slaughter. Yawn! If Darth Sidius played KOTOR, his character would not have been Sith. Somethin's not right there. I hate games that make the choice between good and evil into a dicotomy of Jesus vs. Baby-eating.

It's kind of pathetic when you market a product and your two main selling points are "story" and "voice acting".

Combine that with "walkthroughs" that clearly display terrible production values, shoddy uninspiring and unimpressive gameplay, and lightsaber combat that looks more like a clusterfuck of red point sprites and a terribly animated dual-weild...

This game looks more and more like toilet fodder with every new piece of junk they try to hype it with.

um, cartoonists should never design weapons. good thing they don't really. nothing like a useless cross draw of light sabers. if you are fast enough you can lop of BOTH hands in one take.

::sigh::

the new star wars:

10,000,001 sith
25 smugglers
1 something else.

I WILL be buying this game day and date of release! I'm a casual fan of Star Wars and I have enjoyed all the movies and both KOTOR games.

Bioware, to me, has NEVER failed to amaze with their ability for storytelling and gameplay. Back in the day with Baldur's Gate and all the games from that point on. Its all about quality for them and maybe other developers will model after them and not be greedy just for sales numbers. Quality is what makes the most money.

Besides, WoW has had its time in the sun. Full voice acting is certainly a looker and they DID go all out this time. This game WILL be one to watch. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it surpasses WoW in popularity. In fact, I would be ecstatic!

Censor me all you want. The fact that you marked me down only serves to show that you're afraid to look at the truth.

After watching the game play video and coming to the obvious conclusion that its is a complete and almost sicking clone of World of Warcraft set in the Star Wars universe with the only innovation being light sabers and deflecting bolter blasts my interest in this game is vastly diminished.

The sith warrior is a combination of a Warrior, paladin and death kinght. yay.... not. I was really hoping for innovation on the Galaxies level. But apparently not -_-. They are cookie cutting all their races and classes in a generic MMO style. This is a huge disappointment and any fan-boy that believes anything in this game as of date is innovative or somewhat impressive is in just as much denial as the fan-boys who play FF11 and think its a great game or that it fits with the Final Fantasy genre.

I am aborting my plans of reserving this game until I see further improvement. >_

Protip: WoW didn't invent anything. Its classes are all ripoffs of pre-existing classes from other games, going back to Dungeons & Dragons. Hell, Warcraft(and all other fantasy in the past 50 years) is a ripoff of the Lord of the Rings, but I don't hear you complaining about that. Star Wars is more original than Warcraft.

"This class looks like it combines 3 other classes from another game I play, I can tell this just from one class page and a short video!"

Any other pearls from the future you can tell us about? What classes is Smuggler a combination of? And Bounty Hunter and Trooper too? Please tell me your expert opinion.

Why do people care so much to criticize this game or/and compare it to another? WOW has it fan base and Kotor will have HUGE fan base also that would not take from the other. The fact that the game is on alpha mode testing and developing doesn't really make me want to comment about it yet and people should not come to conclusion yet specially when it proabbly will come out mid late 2010.

If you are not going to play the game and say it looks horribly congratulations to you then , the less wow players that play this game the better wow community is the worst one in MMOs . Let Star Wars fan enjoy thier game while you keep grinding and fighting for stupid loot on yours. I 'm very sure not a single person cares if you will play this game or not because you are not going to pay for my play time so can we have some meaningful comments in here pls?

Well - my fear about this game is that it will be ALL style and story and not much gameplay. Class balance is essential in MMORPG. Nothing is more boring than looking for a group and discovering that 80% of the people all rolled the overpowered class. In every new launch, balance needs refining, but I am afraid that, as in nearly all Star Wars games before it, there is one or two classes that are so OP that there is no reason (other than style or story) to play the others.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good story. If that's ALL i wanted, though, I would just read the books or see the movies.

I really think that Bioware is making a huge mistake in making Sith Warriors available from level 1. Just as Star Wars Galaxies made a huge mistake in taking away the elite status of the Jedi and making them a traditional class. Both the Jedi and Sith are supposed to be elite members of the Star Wars galaxy, and some effort should be made in order to attain this elite status. Making these classes available from level 1 will do nothing but ensure that there will be a million Sith and Jedi running around. Though I'm sure there are players who will roll Smuggler's and such as their mains, the majority of the population will probably be Jedi/Sith, imho cheapening the classes themselves.
