This game has always intrigued me. Being a fan of Second Life, I have no problems with spending real life money on virtual items. But, at least, in SL, there are tons of things available for free. This is what I never liked about Entropia. You are given NOTHING to start out with. This is a bit harsh in my opinion. The developers of this game don't seem to understand what it means to ease a player into the game. If they would just give new players some free stuff to start out with, I think a lot more people would play this game and even stick around.

You guys are obsessed with Dio! When I see a rainbow I think of Dark Side of the Moon. I vote for more prog, less metal! :P

Firstly, there cannot be too many Dio references. I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more Dio.

Secondly, it would have been good to note in the item that Planet Calypso is the game that used to be called Project Entropia/Entropia Universe, for those who didn't catch the previous news item.

Thirdly, CryEngine 2 is very pretty; I plan to check this out just to investigate how good it looks in this implementation.

Downloaded. Installed. Won't launch.

Went to website, found the error message I was getting, installed "solution". Still won't launch, same issue.

This is the point where I stop caring. I refuse to jump through more than one hoop to install a game I'm only vaguely interested in.

There's a column for the Daily Grind, how much shit will you put up with trying to install a game?

It should be noted that even though this game has been around for years, jumping in right now is like jumping into a brand new game still in early beta stages.

Eh - I will wait, then; it's not as though Champions Online won't be keeping me busy for the next few months. Besides, I have it on good authority that despite the rigged screenshot, Planet Calypso contains insufficient quantities of Dio.

So, I should take a look at this as soon as possible for the rare items or I might be
The Last in Line?

=)

well I know last golden age people that got lucky (you can get a golden age item from hunting, mining, crafting, etc..) Made about $3k USD sailing them after the golden age is over.. about $5-7k if they where sold now.

So if you ever wanted to play entropia now would be the time imo.

And its also a very fun and in depth game.

downloaded it, installed it, and like another poster - it won't launch.

I was only moderately interested in this one and I also will not jump through more than one hoop for this. Not worth the effort of re-downloading or re-installing.

Seen your attitude I think this game is not for you, it takes patience and work. Don't even try it. Move on.

There are a couple of known issues with the installation files. If you go to www.entropiaforum.com, the community has posted how to fix them. It takes a little work for some people, but it ultimately works and the game world is amazingly beautiful now.

It is worth to take a look, the new graphic is cool , you need only a pc that can handle it :)
The gameplay is a bit odd , the cost is enormus high if you are not one of the lucky ones who become a "key player".
All in all i think they are searching for some guys who are paying for the fun and revenue of such "key players"
