If nearly 20 minutes of Star Wars: The Old Republic gameplay footage narrated by BioWare developers themselves is the kind of thing you get excited about, then today is a very exciting day for the both of us.
IGN is hosting the video that's so huge it comes in four parts. Here's where it gets awesome: It'll show you lengthy gameplay for the Bounty Hunter, Smuggler and Sith Warrior classes in addition to some of the game's planets. Plus, BioWare gives you something of a director's commentary of what's happening with each of the classes. In effect, it's almost pure nerdnip.
Even at almost 20 minutes long, we found ourselves feeling like it all went by far too quickly and there's a definite possibility we may re-watch it again. That seems like a good sign of things to come, at least for BioWare and not so much for our social lives. Check out all four videos after the break.

Why do all the faces look like characters from The Dark Crystal?
Other than that, very cool, 4th video especially.

So.. PvE looks great, show us some PvP now!
Seriously though.. my interest raised a lot after that video... The combat looked good, hope the PvP gonna be more dynamic. I liked the Flashpoint indea and "your choices matter" thingie.. even voice over were actually nice.
So far, so good.. go Bioware go!

The whole thing of course was great. Like Mass Effect but with more people. :)
The battle at the end with the Jedi though was very interesting in that you could see the sabers blocking each other. I point this out as being different to the way swords never actually clash in other MMOs.

Oh My God !!!
I had so much hi hopes for this one.
And it looks like Tabula Rasa in its fighting.
This better change, because the gun firing is p a t h e t i c.
Tabula Rasa has a twin brother. Question will this one also die.
Because that looks lame
It is a bad copy of a FPS.
Terrible

Characters need to pull the lightsabers out of their behinds. Who runs around light that, with their top half totally independent of their bottom half? How can game artists be comfortable with animations like this.
"OH look how HEROIC this battle is!! I'm standing here shooting these guys in the face while they stand here and shoot ME in the face! Totally star warsy!"

People, keep in mind this won't be coming out for at least another year. Most of the voice-overs and animations are probably placeholders.

I was on the fence on this game. The hype fence, I didn't want to get pulled in. then I saw the smuggler class in action in that vid above(watched this 3 days ago on mmorpg.com) and now I have jumped headfirst into the SWTOR craze. Can't wait!

I think the gameplay looks pretty good. It's not a huge leap past WoW/LOTRO/EQII, but at least the characters actually duck and parry instead of the "I'm throwing my sword through you!" animations we have now.

Hope it shapes up but they've got a long way to go based on the bad animations, bad characters and stale gameplay. Hinging everything on VO and story is starting to scare me.

This.
I won't say it looks bad, as I certainly see potential, but that's all I'm really seeing right now.
I still have high hopes, since it's a solid IP from a solid dev/publisher, but they most definitely have a long ways to go to make it truly stand out.

I had absolutely no interest in this game until I saw these videos. Nice work.

Any other site running it so I don't have submit personal information before viewing it?

You don't have to submit personal information. Just enter a reasonable birthdate if you're afraid of giving them yours.
It's not terribly personal information to give a birthdate, since they aren't asking for anything else aside from age verification.

It looks awesome but did anyone notice that even though he's saying "this is a much more difficult battle" the sith warrior was barely getting touched. I still wonder what healing is gonna be like.
