It looks like GamesCom won't be getting all the late summer glory this year, as PAX now has two large MMO events tied around its massive people-crushing finger. The first is of course the Star Wars: The Old Republic public demo in the main hall, but the second seems no less grand.
Funcom's Erling Ellingsen has told VG247 that the reveal for The Secret World at PAX will be "the biggest thing on TSW yet." which is certainly a statement that delivers a lot of excitement. However, beyond the confirmation of new details being revealed in Seattle, WA on September 4th through the 6th, Erling's lips were sealed.
Rest assured that Massively will be speaking with Funcom, potentially with a high amount of fervor. So if you're looking for that new info come the first weekend of September, it should be awaiting your acumen right here.

Funcom needs to bring it with this new game, even after a year and multiple patches there is still a bad taste in a lot of gamers' mouth over AoC. I am look forward to finding out more about TSW and seeing what Funcom is creating.

Ugh, that lying puppet, Erling Ellingsen, had better not have anything to do with TSW. I'm sort of hoping Funcom can keep from messing this one up.

Oh look another future failed game that isn't good enough to sit on the same shelf as WoW.

If it isn't made by Blizzard don't invest.

You have seen this because anyone with a IQ over 80 knows it. I mean god show me one MMO besides WoW since 2005 that isn't a broken failed piece of shit, or is so boring it has a subscriber base under 400k?
it's irritating because it's millions in wasted money devloping said broken shit.

Nevermind. I just looked at your post history. You tend to be a narrow-minded and abusive personality at least on Massively. I shouldn't even be paying you any attention.

There are quite a few games that aren't big in US/EU that have tons of members and some that make more than WoW. Maple Story being one game that actual numbers aren't out but it is suspected to make around or more income than WoW does. Even if it doesn't it is still another VERY successful game, don't be a pure fanboy, be open to other games even if WoW is a good game.

I really want TSW to be good. It's a cool, new setting and Ragnar Tornquist is working on it.
But Funcom worries me.

Is there any relation to The Longest Journey or Dreamfall?

Funcom made The Longest Journey and Dreamfall, but those were quite awhile ago and weren't MMO's. I guess they did alright with Anarchy Online, but I weigh a developer's most recent release (AoC) most heavily when deciding how confident I'm going to be in their new releases. Funcom botched AoC badly in my (and many others') opinion, so I'm very worried about trusting more games to them right now.

I think he was asking if there's any relation between storylines of TSW and The Longest Journey. Funcom has said there isn't.

On another note - is that Mel Gibson? Looks just like him in Payback:

No, but the man behind TLJ/Dreamfall -- Ragnar Tornquist -- is also behind TSW. I believe you're thinking of the episodic series that they are planning, Dreamfall Chapters.
