It seems Star Wars: The Old Republic is the next big thing. We've been raving about it for months and this week's GamesCom gave the press and, more importantly, the public a chance to get down and dirty with BioWare's biggest project to date. IGN took the time to nip to the Jedi Temple and revealed that BioWare were spoiling attendees with a brand spanking new demo focusing on the Sith, specifically the Warrior class.
Indeed they report this demo was basically a back to basics with this mysterious sect, focusing on their training on Korriban – could this be their starter area? They report it examines their mentality and beliefs within the Star Wars universe. After all, if you're going to roll a Sith you need to understand how their minds work as well as taking them down pits and killing giant worms. The piece is amazingly detailed and does more than enough to whet the appetites of Star Wars fans as well as Team Massively. Check it out by clicking here and you might want to start thinking up evil-sounding names while you're at it.

Gonna be great.
Last night I got in trouble with my pregnant wife when I mentioned that I was glad our kid will be born long before this game comes out. When she asked "what if the baby was born on the launch weekend" and I replied "Then I'll see you two when come home" things went a bit sour. LOL. I mostly joking.

LOL ... I had a similar experience when my kido was born except it was a buddy of mine that through under the bus by saying how lucky I was when some game came out. Have no fear I was in trouble the moment I agreed, I think I can almost hear your wifes voice now.

One of the (many) things I really appreciated about Guild Wars was the ability to, in effect, "pause" the game to deal with real-life situations that come up.
In GW, assuming you were soloing something, you could stop halfway into a dungeon, go take your wife to the hospital, have the baby, and then get back to playing after you got home -- all without ever getting "logged off", "timed out", or killed by respawns. That feature was a real life-saver for me on a number of occasions. ;)
It'd sure be great if the instances in other games, such as SWTOR, worked the same way.
