I could probably over look the few boring zones this game had if the combat was fun.
But it's not, it was unfortunately the worst combat system I have EVER encountered. You literally turn on your toggle when you enter combat, then every few seconds hit your number 2 button or your number 3 button. That's it.
Positioning doesn't matter, movement during combat doesn't matter, all that matters is that you hit your number 2 or 3 button when your bar fills up.
In my opinion, people that buy the game may have fun with it for a few months, I won't deny that, But after those few months, they'll look for something else, something with content and a combat system.

What really turns me off is the art style, it's too cartoon-ish. Unless your character has a full face mask, your lips will look like you've gotten an OD of botox; and the eyes are HUGE.

Another thing is you can use is travel powers while in combat. It takes more of your energy but can be used to great effect to get away from the enemy.
The auto attack only does a pitiful 5 damage or so. Everyone has one and it is used to build up energy only.
You can also knock people around. Throw lamp posts at people. Hmm I wonder if you played this game at all

Yeah, it's just dumb 'use end builder, use special attack'... in the tutorial, when you only HAVE two powers. If you try that not much further afterwards, you're quite liable to get spanked badly. There's been many a stronghold battle I got creamed at until I used the environment, remembered to block, and generally used my head.
Now, this may still be a disadvantage depending on how you feel, but the combat definitely gets broader once you hit the mid teens to 20s. The stuff that worked while beating on Irradiates in the desert works less well when you're in MC, and even less when you get to Monster Island or the 'upper' parts of the Desert/Canada.
