Gonna go ahead 'n inform you fools (yes, fools)..

This is an expansion to fix the current game, duh! learn to read and 2+2=4..
How can you bitch and complain when a company is this dedicated to saving/making a game enjoyable? They are aware of the awesome potential that exists is AOC, and it takes twice the production time to create the smallest of additions that it does a current weak-engined-boring game.. Blizzard can add new content/fix the game on the fly, b/c the game is not complex by any means (from a technical aspect).

AoC is beautiful, and really is enjoyable to play..once they figure out a powerhouse system for combat, interaction, feel & enjoyable time killers..it will be simply awesome.

This is comin from some1 who usually hates Funcom (makes me sick, when i see their logo)

"This is an expansion to fix the current game, duh!"

lol, never hard a patch being called an expansion before... and I wonder if you gonna pay for this patch or it's free.

The expansion gonna be the same success as buggylikeshit criminal system, more guards then players, feats not working year after release (lol), various exploits (bk?), and the pvp revamp they did, which people 'loved' judging by the uproar heard on forums.

Actually I used the try again option they had some time ago, after the pvp revamp patch (aka 'expansion') and it totally sucked.. from 1 shooting to 5 minutes long fights...But it's a typical fix by failcom.

The game would have a future if they actually listen to the players, and put the TL forums into a good use, but no, bugs and exploits were reported all over the TL but failcom did what? yeah right.. ignored them.

So I don't have my hopes high for the expansion aka patch.. pity though.. AoC could have been great.

Hey, if you're dumb enough to blindly pay for that stuff, Funcom probably wants to have your babies. And make you their trophy bitch.

People are still judging the game from the launch perspective. The game is much better now but I won't deny that there are still some minor issues and some more game breaking like latency spike on "Crom" where I use to play.

All I see is that they 've been listening to theirl player base and they are trying to do a better job. So,I gonna wait and see how all this turn out.

I don't understand all the hate for AoC.

I played AoC at launch for a few months and I can honestly say it was teh most fun I've had in an MMO in years. Its beautiful and the classes and combo system are a lot of fun. Also the dungeon content and quests were some of the best i have played in any MMO. The Black Temple in Stygia was amazing when they revamped it just after release. I also had tons of fun just doing quests in Tortage on white sands island for the PvP experience, the big temple full of BlackOnes was a great place to skirmish.

I had several characters the highest got to 50 and then all my fiends lured me into playing WAR. I was very disappointed with war and am planning on going back to AoC in the near future to see all the "fixes" they have made. If i thought the game was great at launch I'm sure I'll love it now.

Bottom line is I will pre-order this expansion and be there day one because I love AoC and believe in FunCom's vision for the game regardless of how well its been executed from the start. I only see good things for AoC in the future and hope people will give it a second chance come the expansion.

Horseshit. Content that every other MMO gives out as free patches they charge $50 for.

Only horseshit is your reply. All other games add paid expansions with loads of content just like this will be.

ID10T error I think.

People are very eager to judge this expansion baly because of the early release of the original game, and fail to look at this in a sane, out of the box manner.

Its a next generation MMO. It has graphics that does not come from the last century (wow, war, lotr, eq2, guild wars etc etc).

Ofcourse making a next generation MMO when being a pioneer, takes longer.

The MMO community is just too hasty with its judgement here.

If I have learnt anything from playing WoW (5 years), AoC (2 months) and WAR (2 months), it is that games are bugged the first 1-2 year (WoW surely was bugged too, and lacking heavily in content at launch), but then they pick up, and start evolving in a fleshed out manner.

This is why I won't buy Aion, Champions Online or Jumpgate Evolution at launch. I will wait a year, and then try them, because they'll have had some time to flesh out all their bugs.

I might try SW:TOR at launch, but thats just beacuse its Bioware, and their the best there is. Even better than Blizzard in a RPG perspective.

I don't really know what is 'next gen' about AoC apart from the graphics, the reason I spotted playing and will never go back is the world design. All those small instanced zones just did now add up to a persistent believable world to me, and were far less immersive than 'last century' seamless zone worlds like Azeroth and Middle Earth.

When talking about "next gen", its allways all about graphics. Anything else does not matter...

You have 15 year old games more complex than games made today. Yet they are not "next gen"

All about graphics m8, all about graphics...

I'm going to buy it, no question.

The game was definitely broken at launch, but in the months since I've been back, I find it's improving all the time.

I think FunCom was smart in going with a "horizontal" expansion here. It's no secret that Age of Conan was rushed to release, and that gameplay content after Tortage still, even now, becomes noticeably thin in places.

To simply raise the level cap and throw in a bunch of high-level content into the game wouldn't meet the greatest need of the game at this point, I think.

Better to make sure that there's more content all around for those curious players who've come in _after_ the launch debacle, so that they'll have reasons to stay, and to play up to high level too.

To release the expansion's content piecemeal for free would cost FunCom too much in development costs and time -- when they need to build on the positive feedback AoC's been receiving quickly, so that more people may be motivated to come, to take a look, and to stay.

No one's forcing anyone to pay for the expansion. Anyone who wants to hold on to their rage and suspicion can certainly do so. As the old saying goes, "Vote With Your Money". Yours votes no, mine votes yes. And so we go ...

Me, I enjoy Age of Conan very much now. At the very least, in a fantasy MMORPG market where the choices seem to alternate solely between High Fantasy or Realm versus Realm PvP, it's good to have a Sword-And-Sorcery flavored option.

Yep I will definately buy this. FC with Craig at the helm are really making AoC a wicked game.

I can't wait for it.
