Humans
Twi'leks
Zabraks
Togruta

Are the four I would almost bet the farm on. Zabraks because of Maul, Twi'leks because, well there are hugely popular, and Togruta because they have been so heavily featured thus far in all the stuff we have seen about this game in terms of concept art and the online comic. Though Bioware may decide that one race with tentacles is enough, though I hope not.

Wookiees I don't see happening. In SWG they suffer hugely in terms of appearance, and also in terms of gear they can wear to make them look different from each other. A wookiee in a full suit of armor just sounds wrong. Outside of paintings and illustrations I have yet to see a Wookiee look good in a digital format. Maybe Bioware will surprise us, but I won't bet on it.

I really don't think that there will be race options that vary much from humaniod, especially not going into the realm of creatures with other languages (thinking mainly wookie). They made it clear that you will have a guardian that goes with you and my guess is that you will make most of your customization in character from them, kinda like in Guild Wars Eye of the North.

I for one, and i'm probably one of the few, am getting sick of the hype of this game. I would like facts, mostly about gameplay, because what i've seen so far is just an online Kotor (which i'm in the minority for not really caring for, it was okay, to me though not the end all be all that people say). I'm guessing that we'll only see more of that once it gets closer to live, but this "what 'may' we see??" thing is getting annoying.

There are assassins, and you don't bring up the Noghri? Sheesh.

Were Noghri even around in this time period? They were a primitive peoples even during the time of the Galactic Civil War.

If I'm not mistaken, it was during the Clone Wars that their planet was made toxic. So yeah, come to think of it, this would probably be a little early for there to be large numbers of Noghri roaming the Galaxy (was a little while later that Vader started using them as assassins and all). Ah, well. It's still not *quite* out of the question, and they remain basically the most badass non-Sith assassins available. *shrug*

I agree with all your predictions except Wookies and Droids.

Voice-acting wouldn't work for Wookies and theres no way they can have Wookies speaking basic. I'm very doubtful about the translator idea. When has that ever happened in Star Wars? I don't think it would feel right at all.

Droids aren't sentient beings. Not having free-will excludes them in my opinion. Also, I don't think playing one would be very heroic.

I think both Wookies and Droids will definitely be companion characters, though.

As for my own addition. Togruta (Shaak Ti & Ashoka Tano are both this species) seems highly likely. They've appeared in gameplay videos and are pictured as the feature Jedi on the official site's Game Info page.

If you have read any of the books, many of the wookies who travel the galaxy have small droid translators accompany them. For example, the Jedi Lowbacca, Chewie's nephew.

Personally, I'll be happy if they only offer humans as the only playable race, using other races and droids for the companion characters.

If Bioware/TOR goes in some sort of MT direction for this game, they could possibly make additional races available accountwide for a one-time MT fee or offer them in additional expansions or make additional playable races unlockable at a really high level or after completing some particularly challenging quest line. That's what I would do if I were Bioware.

It seems to me also that the voice acting might present a problem here, as I imagine all the voice acting for player characters is basically "human". It might therefore be problematic to offer a number of playable race options considering the voice content of this game.

I seriously doubt that they would use human voices for non-english speaking species. Bioware is usually REALLY huge on immersion, I really...really hope that if they choose to use "alien" races (which I hope they do!) that they DONT use english for the characters. Wookies can't even physically SPEAK english. It's part of the lore, their vocals cannot be trained to speak english. They can understand it, and other species can learn to speak kashyyyk but wookies cannot speak any other languages. So, if they DO plan to use a wookie race, and they DO plan to use english speaking characters - they'd be making a big mistake for f-ing it up and overwriting history.

I'm a nerd, sorry. I just really can't imagine they'd bend the "rules" just for the game. I'd much rather put up with listening to wookies and other races speaking their native languages, or at least with an accent. It would just seem to hokey if they did it any other way.
