on the fence about AION, while graphically it's stunning.. I'm wondering about what end-game it has and how they handle PVP. Is PVP and PVE separate things (like they are in GuildWars) or are they this mish-mash of endless PVE affecting class balancing (like in WoW).

will I enjoy my time at max level enough to stay there or will I have a fleet of alts as I get bored at the end and try something new?

I've heard nothing but good things about Aion but it's the same way about every mmorpg before release. Then once it's released everyone bashes it cause it didn't live upto the fanboi hype.

It could be the best game in the world but I just hate those Asian style graphics it just looks so generic.I'm trying so hard not to buy the game cause I desperately need a new mmorpg to play. I just wish it had some good art to it that interests me and lore I can care about like Warcraft or Starcraft.

That is the reason I cancelled my pre-order for the game. Nothing pulls me to want to play the game. The wings thing is overrated and like you said, it looks like a generic asian mmo.

I am 'hoping' I like Champions Online, but if I don't, I guess I'll be playing other games until DCUO or Star Wars comes out.

I love Aion, it's fun...but (and it amazes me to say this) Champions Online won out, it feels like the old PnP game I use to play back in the day.

visually.. AION is mpressive to me, sure it's a highly stylized "Asian" style but I'm fine with that and the armor detail is top notch, toss in some solid and smooth character animations and visually at least you have a winner.

I've no doubt the leveling game is fun... I've yet to find an MMO without a fun leveling game, it's when the leveling is finished, what do you do then? Run the same few instances over, and over, and over... Grind the same PVP areas over, and over. Honestly all MMO's seem to have some kind of grind to them somewhere so the concept of needing to grind I'm ok with, what I'm not ok with is needing 24 other people for said grind.

I know and I don't even think the Wings are kool... they just look like something a 14 year old girl likes the look of. I mean really does a full grown male out there find the cute emo look interesting to them and isn't Asian?

What I'd prefer is if they gave me flying mounts because Wings just feels like a gimmick and they look really ghey. Where as if i was flying some kind of demonic Dragon like what Arthas has and looks badass then I'd be interested.

Though what I really want is for SWTOR to have Atmospheric flight like Hoth In Episode 5.

Yeah, I'm in the 'turned off by Asian-style graphics' camp. If you're looking for alternatives, or time-fillers before the next wave of AAA mmogs, try DDO Unlimited or Istaria...

Nothing new to see here; this is just another "elementalist" rehash.

Forget the graphics and the flying, Aion is worth playing if you want to check out the open world PVP endgame, which may or may not work out in the west but seems to be going very well in Korea. Or, I guess, if you want fantasy diku gameplay that's competitive with WoW in polish but is not WoW just so you can do something different for a little while.

However if the above features don't get you excited, WoW has a much deeper PVE endgame and way way more content for altaholics.

Apparently we need another fantasy game. Apart from WoW which is THE fantasy MMO, we have Warhammer for those who think WoW got PvP wrong, Guild Wars, Free Realms, LOTRO, Conan, Darkfall for masochists and probably another 100 games worldwide that offer a fantasy universe.

I love the immersive, detailed world of WoW with its lore and its attempt to fit just about every other style of multiplayer game within it.

That's enough thanks. The fantasy world has just about been done to death and better graphics do not replace the game and gameplay improvements in WoW over 4 years and there are enough fantasy MMOs to allow a wide choice for those people who find WoW distasteful.

God forbid we have more people sitting around a table deciding whether to call a new class a mage, a wizard, a sorcerer, an adept or a magician.

Glad you love WOW, but I can't play it anymore.

Tried several times to get back into the game and even wotlk didn't pull me back in for more then a month before I was forcing myself to play. 2+ years and WOW much like EQ2, and EQ1 is finished for me.

Aion isn't the greatest MMO ever, but if your bored it's 10 bucks to pre-order and try before you buy. The graphics are exceptional, and the engine runs superb.

Haven't tried Champions yet, going to pre-order it's either Champions or Aion for what? A year till DC Universe? God knows for SWTOR.

For the record every male gamer I know including myself has 0 problem with asian style graphics. So please lets stop the generalities and boil liking asian style graphics to personal opinion.
