Star Vault's Mortal Online seems to be progressing quite nicely as their second stage of closed beta is set to open next week. On August 3rd, 2,000 more players will be unleashed on the beta servers with even more to come in the following months. As previously mentioned, these blocks of beta players will be let in according to a schedule posted on their site. With 10k total slots available in the beta, players who pre-order the game are being allowed in every other week from July 20th to September 14th.
If you're curious about this highly-anticipated MMO, check out their website or our recent coverage for more information on how to play and how to pre-order and secure your own spot in the beta.

I wish the female genitals were visible and not the male ones at character creation. Breasts aren't enough although a plus, yes.

People have gotten spoiled by the big company "betas" where the game is not put out there for testing so much as it is put out there for people to ooh and aah over. This isn't the free preview type of beta, it's the real kind.

Unfortunatley Star Vault dropped the ball and Mortal Offline is dead on arrival. They can't get more than 50 people on the server without it crashing, there is no Beta Forum, and customer service is flooded with chargebacks.
And really other than the fact that they are using beta to do internal testing, which is incredibley stupid, the real turn off for many is the lead developer himself trolling the forums like a rabid fanboi posting his fits of rage at anyone who dares question the project.
Being open is refreshing but being a complete idiot on a public forum once a day, is probably not the best PR the project could ask for.

This game is amazing! and will be wonderful at release. It will destroy all other mmorpgs.
you people need to stop whinning, the beta is always up during EU work hours when the devs are in office, if the server crashes and they are not their there is no way for them to fix it.
so if you are in block A change your hours to about 3am eastern to 1pm eastern and the servers are very stable and the devs talk in irc and such quite a lot.
This is beta and they are still working on stability! it was said in the newsletter that was what block A would be testing, stability. So if you cant handle a real beta then come back in a month to test imo.

Lol, Global Agenda Alpha has been stable for almost a year now, before going into Closed Beta. Moreover, their server has been up 24/7 with very few downtime every 3 months or so.
Their developers are actually forthcoming with information instead of pulling a Tasos like Mats Persson has been doing for quite some months now. The attitude of their (paid!) community managers beats that of MO's by a landslide, as THEY are not afraid to call the leader of the main GA only clan on his behaviour if need be, instead of oohing and aahing over the sucking up Aegis Imperium is doing all the time (sending a CEO a birthday present to ensure your place in Beta? Yuk!).
Seriourly bartillo, I'm sure you'll be able to be a fanboi even when you take off the rose-colored glasses and stop being blind for some glaring (Star)faults, it's not that hard ;) You do agree for example having IRC with a user-cap for bug-reporting instead of a webform or a Beta forum is not really a smart move now, do you?
