Yesterday, we began a new screenshot contest here at Massively where we display a certain in-game image from a certain MMO, and you tell us the specific location and game of the shot. Even though we mentioned how easy this first one was in the post, we never anticipated it would be answered correctly within the first 6 minutes!
So congratulations goes out to Mordredis for that correct answer. The screenshot was taken in Runes of Magic's Aslan Valley, just north of the town of Silverfall. The bridge here is very distinctive, which gave away the location quite easily for any Runes of Magic fan. Mordredis will win a full set of the brand new Vermillion Warrior's armor that several sites are giving away piece by piece, much like the Jade Warrior set from last month. Will we be giving away any of these pieces ourselves? There's a very good possibility, so keep your eyes on the site this weekend!
Next week we plan to offer a bit more of a challenge, with proceeding weeks fluctuating between easy and difficult, depending on the prize. Each time will be fun and rewarding though, so don't miss "Where Am I?" every Thursday afternoon.

Just looks like a WoW clone to me.......... I wish I was God so I could kill anyone who makes another WoW clone.

If I was god I would make Venekor my arch angel and would send him on a quest to rid the world of people who call other people douches and what not in comment threads for no good reason but to be one themselves. Also I would send him to destroy crappy f2p WoW clones!

Kind of harsh don't you think?
It's a free game, get over it..

I ran a little contest like this on my site for a few months, and it always blew me away how quick players would respond with the correct. I'm hoping we get some super-obscure shots here. =)

Somehow, I have no doubt we will. Shawn is sneaky like that.

With all due respect to Shawn, would it not be better to allow us all to post our guesses throughout the week, after which a winner is chosen randomly from the pool of correct answers?
I say this only because a lot of us are at teh mercy of things beyond our control, such as time zone, internet connectivity or accessibility, browsing habits.. you name it.
Surely you would generate a lot more interest (and comments) this way?
Otherwise, it's all over fairly rapidly. How about instead making it fun, and something that we can *all* have a go with?

I actually do plan to change that part of the rules up a bit. Sometimes it may be the first person with the correct answer, sometimes it may be a random name selected from the group. I definitely want this to be fun, but also with a bit of skill involved (not just copying the person's answer above you). Maybe the answers would be emailed, instead of commented in that case? There will also be times when I'll announce a few hours early on Twitter when the contest will begin, to give a head's up.
So there will be a variety of chances and a variety of rules and levels of difficulty, depending on the prize. Thanks for the input! Always appreciated.

I think that having the guesses emailed to you and you picking a random person from those is a great idea. It will give us all that know the answer a chance to win, but without people copying answers.

RoM's fun until you see how unbalanced it is. Yes, I know its a free game but unless your planning on rolling what 60% of the servers playing, (they're all playing the same thing for a reason, in the end your 2 shotting people at a distance.... fill in the blank who's doin that or just search to see whats being played the most.) + you HAVE to buy microtransactions to gear yourself up. ALOT of people who are new to the game say you dont, so ask some people who are 50/50 how balanced the game is at the end along with how much $$$ you have to spend. Im not hating on anyone who's having fun with this game, just trying to give people a heads up before they invest abunch of time just to realize the character they have isnt what it should be and they probably should have just waited for a new MMO to come out.
