Gun-fu, robots with top hats and flame-embroidered bugs wielding guns are merely some of the descriptions for the ten new screens Cryptic has released for Champions Online. We know that a little while back we asked Cryptic to experiment more with screenshots and even though these are still action-focused, many of them are pretty awesome.
We're having a hard time deciding on our favorite. While the image above is certainly awesome due to its legendary high levels of robot-wearing-top-hat, the guy upside down in mid-air wielding two guns is exceptionally impressive in its own right. But, you've also got a guy with flaming arms kicking a humongous power armor-clad guy in the face.
Ah, who are we kidding? It's impossible to pick a favorite this time around -- at least for us. Maybe you'll have an easier time of it. You can find all ten images in the gallery below.

I don't play WoW.
What I have played was City of Heroes, where they made some incredible looking costume additions and some bland and boring generic ones over the last year.
The awesome ones, that looked better then anything that was (at the time) avail in the costume creator? $10 more. On top of the $15 you pay (for which pays for the resources to create these "mini" boosters)
The bland, genric patterns? Oh.. yea.. those come w/ your $15 a month.
So, if I want to truely enjoy the "great" visual additions, I have to pay more? /cancel.
It's bullshit. They (Cryptic, NCSoft, whoeverthefuck) gets to have their cake and eat it to. Well, not from me. I'll slap the cake right out of their bitch-ass mouths.

Well, I'm going to be playing it. Looks good to me. RMT or not, I won't ever utilize that aspect, so I'll earn my stuff the right way, through gameplay.

Can the special costumes bought through the RMT process be unlocked in-game? Or are they RMT exclusives?

All I can say is; JP, for someone who doesn't care about the game you seem a litle fast to comment on your disdain for it.

I was interested in playing STO.
That was until Cryptic decided to tack on additional "optional" items, above and beyond the sub.
I really am not that interested in CO. Quick frankly, I'm pretty certain the game is going to be a marginal niche game at best.
But, Crypitc's head once said "Microtransactions make me want to die" and now, Jack's nothing but a pathedic two faced corp puppet.
So, anyone willing to give their money to them, I want them to know what type of company they're getting involved with.

I'm liking MT's more and more....on both the CO and STO communities 98% of the asshats who have been a thorn in the communities side are now not going to play.
Micro transactions: the Asshole killer.

Ya, nothing better for a new game then turning off half your potential subscribers!

Yup, microtransactions are fine, just get rid of that lame subscription fee.

This graphic looks nice, but my concerns over the introductions of RMT remain.
I think you'd have to be some sort of total idiot to agree that the subscription+RMT model is a good thing for the player base. You give an inch, they'll take a mile, costumes now, premium content later, mark my words :) The model they have presented doesn't offer any advantage to the consumer, other than to bypass some sort of time sink to get to the reward, this isn't what RMT is about.
I agree with JP's comments (and I hate to agree with JP, as some of you know) regarding Cryptics head's change in stance in RMT, pretty sad really.

JP's childish idiocy now brushed aside, the screens look beautiful and the game certainly looks cool. I beta tested CoH and played it for 5 years. Great game.
CO looks better. We'll see how things go when the game comes out, but from these shots, already I'm excited.
