The game looks awesome, but I worry too about the MMO faction. I will not be playing this if it is not a true MMO. Instances are good when placed sporadically throughout, but not entirely built in to the game. Its still too early to tell and sure these glimpses will wet your appetites, but some of the WOW killer prophecies are way too early to be given out.

I like just about everything about this video! Too much good stuff to comment in such a short area. But I really like VO for any game. It surely makes the game more realistic!

Great job BW and LA!

It looks absolutely incredible. Can't wait to try it.

However it appears as though most of the game seems to be instanced with your character and only a few others due to how the different choices can cause different effects.

I'm not quite sure how this would work out. I mean, will we see "LFG Rebellious Captain. Killing him." where you would then have to find a group of players who want the same exact choices to be made as you? Or does each player go into a little phased version of the instance during dialogue where they make their own choices, but then rejoin the group after the dialogue?

It will be interesting to say the least, and will most likely be fantastic.

This is what I know about Star Wars compared to every other MMO "WoW Killer" candidate.

Star Wars doesn't have to be perfect out of the gate for me to play it exclusively. Because it's Star Wars. I can put up with a lot of early launch bugs to be able to play a Star Wars game. War, Conan, etcetcetcetcetc all had to be nearly perfect at launch for people to switch en masse and not just come back two weeks later.

They destroyed SWG. Millions of people have just been playing WoW in the meantime until they brought it back in a bigger way.

Why do game designers feel the need to become film directors? If I want to see a movie I will go to the theater or put in a DVD. When I play a game I want good game play, not 5 min movies that slow down the game.

Is it just me or does anyone else predict that 90% of the player population will be Jedi/Sith? Unless they make them underpowered somehow why wouldn't you want to play that class exclusively?

Yeah I really don't see how this stuff (which looks really kewl) will be able to scale up to even a small sized guild. Imagine 20 different people trying to sync up story lines so that they can play together? It definitely looks like "big-co-op" and not a mmo.

"It looks like it's going to be more of a Co-Op RPG."

I do wonder at this. I imagine that since it is a MMO, and there will be a finite number of locations that a level 10 *whatever* can quest in, that each class will be sent to planet X with different quests. Then each class can work on their own personal storyline in the same area, together. Even if they are working on different quests, they will probably be bunched up in 'quest hubs' and picked up at the same time.

But it really just looks like WoW with lightsabers. :)

Well the voice is fantastic. I've been wanting that for years since playing the original SWG, it's just dull and a bit depressing to walk around when soloing and having to read text when the star wars world was so much about the sounds. That's going to be quite cool and an improvement.

BUT I HATE THE CARTOONY GRAPHICS!!!! I know this had to be a calculated tactic to appeal to the Wow crowd and they are running a business but it just totally hurts my immersion into the world. The beauty of the original star wars films was how their effects made you feel like they were real, these are not as cartoonish as Wow but they definitely are not adult stylistics. It's such a shame. I feel like I'll be watching the star wars cartoon rather than the live action games. But I'm sure I'll still at least give it a try while sighing quite a bit at the same time.

Very interesting. I am going to be patient and see how this game develops in the next couple of years. Hopefully by then, I will have a system that do this game justice.
