DC Universe Online and SOE want to know who you would choose as your DCUO "BFF". BFF in this particular case can refer to either Best Friend Forever or Best Foe Forever, so there's room for those characters you love to hate too: The DCUO BFF Promotion lets eligible participants submit a video of up to 30 seconds to explain why they would like to virtually meet, fight and become BFFs with their chosen character in-game. There's a short movie on the front page of the DCUO official site encouraging folks to get into character for their entries, though it also warns that tight spandex might be taking things a step too far. Our take? If you can pull it off, go for it!
Entries can be made through MySpace, or in person at the SOE booth at San Diego Comic-Con, with judging duty to be performed by the DCUO MySpace Friends. The two winners will score a "Lex Luthor in Power Armor" poster, signed by the DCUO dev team and Jim Lee. If this news has you getting ready to dust off your favorite superhero outfit and enter, make sure the submission is in before the competition closes on the 15th of August at 1:59AM PT.

How about Sony hire back the people they just let go and fire the goofy marketing people that come up with these ideas.
Sony for some reason is getting back on my bad side and I was going to give them another shot.

A very creative and cute promotion.
I'd have preferred they run a text entry competition alongside it though, for the camera-less folks.

Dude...the people they let go needed to go, they were the GM's with a long history of poor customer service, the dead weight on games like EQ II and SWG, and the redundant positions that were held by friends, and family members. I know this because I have several friends who work for SOE.
SOE is going through a metamorphosis, they took a long hard look at what they were doing wrong and have implemented significant steps to change it. It amazes me that this makes the news but where was massively and the rest of the pseudo news groups when SOE brought there Customer support back to the U.S. from India?
Yeah it’s easier to write about negativity.

I would really like to believe that they are taking big steps to change what they have and are doing wrong. But when they do stuff like sneaking microtransactions into their existing subscription based games (excluding Free Realms since it's a different model), despite the very very large majority of it's customers voting on SOE's own official polls that they didn't want those microtransactions on their existing servers.
Well that just tells me that they are up to their same old dirty and sneaky tricks they've always been up to.

Would be nice if there was game release to celebrate. Otherwise, it's a bit gimmicky.
