Gotta love it when a Japanese character looks like a white guy in a game. Awesome. :/

I was just about to post the same thing. Had to do a serious double-take when they said what his name was. Guess this guy's superpower is looking like a white guy from an early 1990's sport drinks ad.

Radical!

Yeah that was pretty bad. I was going to say that I knew a kid when i was growing up that was a little white boy with a Japanese name, but in his bio he is clearly from Japan.

Maybe he was adopted?

Well there is basically only one Human face in Champions Online, and that skin tone is technically within the real-life Asian range... but personally I'd still have gone for a few shades warmer at least, and wouldn't consider a custom face to be unreasonable for an apparent feature character.

i thought there was implemented facial morphology in the character creation part of the game; at least it appears to be that way on leaked character creation videos...

its not like they would sell the game with just the same face slapped on every character

It has facial sliders, yes - but they all start from the same base: you can make your nose bigger or smaller for instance, but not make it crooked or change the underlying shape.

You can also apply a few skin effects, but only AoC style ones to make your character more decrepid e.g. rashes, liver spots.

Not to belittle their efforts, but if you look through the extensive official screen shot galler...

... you'll see that after the initial wave 99% face-on screenshots feature headwear, masks or a crazy novelty head - the character generator simply doesn't support plain 'ol Human faces (or more precisely: it only supports one).
