You meant battlecruisers for salvaging, didn't you?

They may be slower, but can have 8 highs and can fit more cargo expanders in the lows.

If you bookmark, then hand in the mission and come back you can use a microwarp to go faster.

I know a lot of people prefer battlecruisers for salvaging but I've always found destroyers and cruisers to be superior. Destroyers have loads of high slots for tractor beams and salvagers, plus they're faster than a battlecruiser and still have a respectable cargo hold for loot. That said, a corpmate of mine recently showed me the cargo capacity of an expanded Hurricane and it would make a great choice.

Thanks for the tips. I'm a relatively new Eve player (just getting started on level 3s) and this kind of info helps a lot. So far I've just been using the same battlecruiser (harbinger) to salvage that I use to run the missions. It is annoying to have to swap out the fittings constantly, but it's a lot cheaper than setting up a new ship for now. I experimented with setting up a destroyer, but found his cap would deplete very quickly using all of those tractor beams and salvagers at once.

I run a "salva-cane" myself. The cargo hold of 2040 m^3 plus 2 Secure Cans inside to make it effectively 2400 M^3 is very nice. Plus with MWD I can go 740 m/s between wreck fields, assuming there's a need. Rarely am I not pulling something in. It's very fast and effective.

I cheat because I dual account with domi tank and cruise CNR for damage. Then I salvage with a destroyer with a hauler alt to store the loot. I'm willing to fork over for a golem so I can tractor at 40km =D

Ah, small mistake here... Tech II armor hardeners and energized resist plates all require Hull Upgrades V, not IV, making it one of the most valuable of the long skills to train for higher level missioning if you're an armor tanker. Tech II hardeners have better resist bonuses than any Tech I or named resists, so it's definitely worth it.
