I love playing first person in a lot of games, thats why I bought Hellgate. But when it comes to WoW and RoM I play 3rd person. Fells wrong otherwise. When a fight gets laggy I zoom in and stare up or down though.

Just so you 1st-person people know, Vanguard does it fairly well. Head bob, rendered feet and hands, etc.

for me depends on the task and the environment

btw, in SL you can control the camera holding alt and clicking and dragging (holding control too, modifies the type of movement, and so does holding control and shift too), depending on the sign and the environment the sign is in alt-camming is a better choice than going into first person mode

Usually third person.

That said, when I want to run faster in SL, I move into mouselock (first person) - as for some reason it gives you a speed boost.

My typing of emotes is usually third person only because using first person results in bad grammar as all SL emotes start with your full name... Most people use a mix of third and first person in their emotes to sound closer, but it really just looks jarring.
