Subscribe via iTunes, get them right away, it's nice. Saw this last week, I can see a lot of time being spent in customization. I guess they did say they aim for the 3 C's, customization being one of them.

Really? Only 100 people per server? I assumed because Massively was covering it like a real MMO, that it was. I would tend to agree that 100 people on a server at a time isn't really achieving the "massive"

Ahh, here is from their FAQ:
Approximately 10,000 players per world consisting of 100 player district maps. A hundred customized players driving unique cars, doing crimes, shooting or busting each other is well worth checking out.

So it would seem that the world itself can have 10k. Then there are 100 instances or zones that can hold 100 people. I am guessing that you can go from zone to zone as long as there is room. So that is massive, just with limited movement.

So that means 100 people per server because theres no way you could travel zone to zone but have to wait until someone leaves, how annoying would that be? You'll just be on a server with 100 people at a time sooooo....... not an mmo. If 100 people is 100 then that make Joint Operations an mmo because thats 100 people. Maybe COD 4 is an mmo cause theres 64 people per server but you're playing with 100,000 people at the same time who are connected to the same server browser server.

It sounds like City of Heroes. Once there are enough people in a zone, it creates another instance of the zone. EQ2 did the same thing.

I predict the game will be live for less than 5 minutes before a penis car is driven.

Perhaps we should add another 'm' to the acronym.

Moderately Massively Multiplayer

Venekor go do some research before you post crap please. You travel through districts instantly. Have you ever played City of heroes? Something like that. Or even WoW, you can travel through towns instantly. Stop posting crap lmao, CoD is not an MMO what are you talking about?

............. it's called sarcasm.

and instead of 100 i meant mmo but you cant edit.

Also it says split up into 100 player districts........ so that means 100 players max which means aint an mmo.

It's 100 players per district. 10.000 per server online at the same time. You obviously are too dumb to understand that. What defines an MMO? Because 100 players online is still MMO, just not the old stereotype that World of Warcrap adopts. You're laughable.

Alrighty then. MMO isn't necessarily about how many people you're playing with at any given moment. It's defined by a persistent game world while at the same time being "online".

I doubt you'll ever find 500 people in the same spot in DDO (Dungeons & Dragons Online), but it's still an MMO.

Yes, you were being sarcastic, but comparing this concept (APB) with Call of Duty 4 is ridiculous. The difference being the world in which the game is played. A server browser interface is not the same as what APB is showing.

To be fair, 500 in a zone is a lot more than 100. Even in early Ultima Online days there was more than 100 people in just the main city at any one time. Last night I checked into CoX, WoW, and EVE and found more than 100 people in the busier areas.

The only thing about 100 is that it is a low enough number that a large guild could lock a zone up. Actually, even just a simple majority of players all belonging to a guild or alliance could be unstoppable. But then, who knows what gameplay will end up being like. Pretty early to make assumptions on my part.

100 people, 10,000 people, blah blah blah. Let's discuss the fact that the symbol creator is awesome and I'm sure the character creator will be even better!
