I likely will NOT be playing Aion any time soon just because of time/money constraints but I think both sides (Those who like dislike) have points and both sides have blind weaknesses,

Aion is a wait and see. Six months from now the sub base could be in the millions or it could be dead. I for one think it will be somewhere inbetween.

Heh on the 'wait and see' approach. For me there's no such thing and I'll tell you why, I've been waiting for this game for 3 years and I've been waiting for this game before I even knew they were making it. It's like being unhappy with something and then bam you're presented with exactly what you were thinking about.

NOW the only bad thing is FF14 is coming out only a year after Aion (I'm guesstimating) and that will steal me away. However I intend to have the best mmo gaming year ever until then. I don't doubt it will be because I have friends to play with and that will make all the difference.

I don't care about the sub base at all. The game is already solid the world is beautiful and the localization is coming along well.

With my second character, I rolled another gladiator, this time on the elyos side, on the other server (with my friends irl) and made it to level 8- with the deva quest chain completed and ready to go (at level 9-10) in a total of three hours.

The game is made for flying... and class skills... so yea, Im glad the level 1-10 experience is short :D

Played the game for the first time this weekend, but didn't like what I saw. To me it looked like a toned down version of Lineage II. As long as you kept an isometric view, the game could uphold the illusion. But once you deviated the camera, to many flat surfaces and ugly textures popped up. I was presented with one boring fetch or kill quests after an other. And the quests read as if they were directly translated from Korean by Babel Fish. I only made it past lvl 7, but my first impression wasn't positive.

Aion is in no way a revolutionary addition to the MMO genre, but I find myself wanting more at the end of each Beta weekend. I can confidently say I'll be there on launch day.

I can't wait to get a taste of Aion's PvP game to see how the various classes shake out.

I'm not a fan of asian MMOs at all, but Aion will make me take back my words.

Finally tried a few betas, someone kill me, so much garbage...so much garbage...

This one did last about 15 hours before deletion. Interesting, just not my cup-o-tea.

5 in the last 3 months, no winners.

Well what was bad about it? All I'm hearing against Aion is vague hate-spam in the likeness of "lol korean" or "GRINDFEST INC".... Why isn't anyone who played the 1-10 beta here actually giving some solid reasons to why it was bad?

Either way, I find it ironic that people throw this hate-spam while WoW's current game is bad right now, how can you throw blind judgments at this game when most of the spammers are playing a game that is as bad as all the bad MMORPGs that exist now? Of course there's no WoW-killer, because WoW is already dead, the only thing that exists now is a shell of a game that is used to make money.

Hey, Sibe, lets flip that coin; What's soooo -good- about Aion? So original, unique, and interesting? Because, my impression of it is essentially 'Guild Wars' with wings and marginally better graphics. Graill said -nothing- about WoW, yet you still bring it up. If fans of Aion cannot be positive about this game without having to resort to ripping on another successful game as some sort of validation...what does that really say about Aion?

Fess, you can try looking outside of one site. I see plenty of lists on MMORPG.com.
The graphics are great and the game runs well on various systems according to what I've read (it runs nicely on my laptop thats 1-2 yrs old). The combat is a little more engaging, with the chain-skills and movement bonuses. Quests have little hyperlinks in them to provide a bit more info on the specific things listed, along with a thing to locate npcs, mobs, or areas. The "N" button brings up a map like what is seen in "Diablo 2", but more detailed and not nearly as annoying. Some of the quests actually give you choices, music is amazing.
Could list a little more, but don't feel like it. And not once did I rip on another game... :P
