DDO is the best mmo i have ever played
I have been on SWG, COH/V, GW's, 9Dragons, Chaos, ExSteel, and WoW
The graphics are amazing, gameplay is real time no click and wait and even the casters who have a bit of a time delay to cast (of course that disapears if you take the quicken feat) can move while casting to avoid damage from incomming mobs
Though its hard at frist to get used to the gameplay especially if you are used to single pull games like swg ... and cause most games like wow and guild wars have that slow click and wait method ... realtime play is alot faster requires quick thinking and movement.
Content was small at launch but the game has grown alot far more then double or triple in size at both low and high end over the years all though alot less at high end in comparison.
I love the game and I know many who have already left did too .. part of the issue as with any mmo is lack of communication on future projects, and time delays between mods... this was one of the origional reasons for rushing out lvl 20 and free to play... so now the developers can work on nothing but content and character options like classes and races in which if done properly ddo has the most potential for updated data and character options of any mmo on the market or to come.
it will be interesting to see how the game competes with non free to play models like wow but more interesting to see how it competes with up-coming giant mmos like DC Universe and its cross platform launching on ps3 as well as PC and Star Wars: Old republic .. which us former SWG'rs thought was never gonna happen and it could draw alot of the mmo population away from both ddo and wow.
all that being said no matter what games i try out Turbine has hit the nail with ddo and i will always be a subscriber. hope yall will too.
