This sounds like it would be fun to play, if I could download it and install it without getting a 'file corrupted' warning.

I am excited for this update (Sound & Graphic improvements specially). Funny thing is; I started playing cause it was free, and I am easily spending more money on it than I have for any other game. Keep the good time comin' Frogster.

You could easily be led to believe that all is rosy in paradise, but it isn't.

There are some pretty major issues with the game that Runewaker & Frogster are simply failing to address.

There is a huge amount of problems relating to class balance whereby magic damage is overpowered because of how mobs are almost all Knight class mobs, meaning that they have low Magic defense & very high physical defense.

Coupled with Mage having zero cooldowns on their aes & having the best crowd control abilities this games is currently "Run of Mages" everywhere you look the bulk of what you will see are Mage/Priest players, who are so powerful they can easily killsteal other players at will, & the majority of them do.

Add in that they have continued to nerf the weakest class into utter uselessness whilst doing nothing to adress the obvious & huge power advantage mages (& in some cases even Priests) have, nerfing durability losses from being hit even more (Mages again win here as they are a range class & consequently shouldn;t be getting hit unless being stupid) & the melee hate doesn't even stop there, with retarded boss designs that again completely screw over melee classes with their 360 degree damage & a debuff that causes the tabk to nuke the crap out of anyone inside 180 range.

And thats without the rather seriously unscruplous practices of nerfing the success rates on upgrading items, the increased durability loss rates, bows & crossbows having even sicker durability loss than any other kind of weapon.

My advice, surf the forums & find out what the players think before you try this game, right now I'm only playing it because there isn't another free to play or subscription game out that I want toplay right now, but as soon as I find one I'm gone.

I am more and more seeing how ftp games like RoM and Perfect World put lead boots on non-paying players. Crafting is the obvious time sink that can only be made better by spending RL cash, but also transportation - perfect world being an outstanding offender in that category. It's a great business model for the companies, exploiting their players tithe max, but it makes me realize more then ever how much the subscrition model mmos offer to their players.

For those tired of fantasies, a lot of Scifi MMO's are coming soon. They are also adding a streaming option so you don't have to wait forever to play RoM.

People complaining about any class imbalance, are just complaining. I've played for months and every class, plus talked to all the high lvl friends that are also all different classes. Everyone is basically happy.

The problem lies more in how you play. Everyone wants to play RoM like other MMO's but RoM has ingeniusely built a system that you need to rework personal tactics and strategy to adapt too.

There's just as many mage classes saying scouts are the overpowered class in RoM.

it's a great game.

Anyone saying Scouts are overpowered is clearly on drugs at this point.

Just about the whole of your post is bull.

I wanted to try this game, but the clothing options on display completely turned me off. Male models: nothing but full robes and plate mail. Female models: nothing but lingerie and strategically-placed cutouts. Bleah.

Well you'll find that "fully clothed Males, all but naked Females" is pretty predominant in fantasy games, however there are plenty of clothing options in the game, & you can switch off armors as you wish.

There are quite a few modest outfits & costumes for Females, though ypu may need to make use of the aggregator items to get the balance of stats & looks you desire, & whilst there isn't really much in the way of "skimpy" outfits for Males, you can switch off your chest item to go around bare-chested for example.

Well, the elven ears at least are better than in WoW, based on the graphic. :-)

I keep hoping WoW will offer a "plastic surgery" option (in addition to the barber chair) so I can get my NE druid's ears reduced to a more normal size.

I really wanted to try this game, but every time I installed it I have had to do major work to get my pc running again, system restores being the least of the problems.

Could be good but I think I will stick with Guild wars for now which is really 'free' unlike all the micro transaction games that seem to be tagging themselves as free to entice people in like the old crack dealers 'the first hits free' method.

Hmm, the elves look really good! now if the game would do something radical, like run on my computer without crashing the instant it gets to the character creation screen, I'd definately play them!

Haven't played the game, but a look at the screens seemed to scream Guild Wars at me. Perhaps some former GW art team devs on the RoM team?

It looks like someone picked WoW, modded it, and decided to launch it as a new game.

Welcome to Runes of Magic.
