Yeeeahhh hmmm... another super hero mmo. They're going to have to reinvent the wheel for this sub-genre or else I'm simply not interested.

Wow... I have to say, I was looking forward to this, but not really anymore. The animations look horrible and jerky as heck. I think I'll just play Champions instead. That game looks awesome in comparison.

This trailer is spectacularly bad, the people who put it together should be sacked. This is a huge IP, and all we get is avatars running around, rather than to convey a theme, it's just a bunch of wide angle shots of some of the abilities. Honestly, I've seen far better EQ fan made videos.

If SOE don't want to pump money into promotion, don't bother, doing nothing was better than this, what a huge let down once again...

$OE and $medley just thought that getting the license was going make them a lot of money. They haven't put out anything innovative since the original EQ and this doesn't look any different.

hello?

did you all watch the same trailer I did because I saw some very nice graphics and possibly some innovative game play depending on how you make your character.

with it still in beta I would bet there is now "polish" on those graphics showing the final way it will be looking on release...

CO is in beta and it looks way better than this.

Reiteration: Jerky, awkward animations, flat characters.

That was an awful trailer. I can't help but be reminded of Vanguard when I look at this trailer for some odd reason. Maybe it's the jerky animations and awful framerate jobs. There were some cool abilities I saw.

However, this is being pushed by SoE, who has ruined a great multitude of MMORPGs. I'd rather not support them. The only time I'd think about trying them again is if they popped out EQ3.

If we are rating trailers here

Compare this junk against Bioware's trailer for SW:ToR

While it's not gameplay footage from Bioware, it is to promote the game, and given these are both apparently AAA titles, Bioware have got one hell of better clue than SOE, even with their first true MMO...

Animation is still herky-jerky and stiff...it's still not smooth. What will it take to put more effort in the animation department? This complaint has been here since the first trailer of DCUO has appeared. More refinement and tinkering please. Champions Online's animation is silky smooth in comparison to DCUO's. I expect better from this IP, but maybe I'm hoping for too much. Don't let Marvel Universe Online steal your thunder, if you want to bank on a superhero franchise. Do the right thing, SOE.

These guys need to watch the E3 Old Republic trailer. It may not have included in game animations but it at least build some excitement.

Are we supposed to see this and really think players will fight as villains against Superman...and kill him? wtf, really?!

Thats the issue with using an IP like this, if you take wow, it already feels like nothing you do has a very strong effect on the world, but DCU will just rub it in the players face IMO.

Going to have to agree w/ most of the sentiments.

Personally, the "freeze" animation is jsut terrible. It's a blue line. There's no texture to it. And that line turns players into a block of ice? It's just not on par w/ new games coming out. And a "DC Universe" will not be enough to retain players.

It's strange b/c the in-game footage theyhad a while back actually looked a lot smoother, and less "alpha" then the trailer they now release.

Personally, I couldn't give two spits about this game, except for one little thing: Will we be able to play villains? I have zero interest in playing a hero, but being able to play a DC-style bad guy? that could be a hoot.
