I dont touch F2P for a few reasons, though some look ok. My nephew (12) played free realms, after about 2 weeks, they upped membership or bought the game, whatever it is you do. So F2P does some good letting folks not invest anything until they feel it is worth the upgrade and they see how bad or good it actually is.

There's a major flaw that comes from anything GamerDNA publishes. Their data only comes from GamerDNA users, which is NOT an accurate statistical sample of all gamers.

Two questions: First, where's this innovation in F2P mmos mentioned at the start of the second paragraph? Unless redundant, derivative, and lacking in content count as 'innovation' these days, I'm not seeing it. Second... Why in god's name would anyone think GamerDNA data is a representative sample of much of anything useful?

GamerDNA has a lot of members and even a small slice of the population is a good way to average out the whole. No one has access to ALL GAMERS. Gamer DNA is as relevant a source of information as any other well trafficked gamer site.

2nd... Not everyone opts to play McMMO WOW. I know, I just committed a cardinal sin against gaming and earned a few billion brainwashed adversaries, but just because you fork over $15 a month for it, doesnt mean its good.

Free 2 Play games are snacky. You can play them exclusively, I played Silkroad Online for years, or jump around and taste them all. There is no obligation to pay for most of them. Fremium games, like Free Realms, are designed to get children to bug their parents for money, ignore those ones. I dont think much of anyone (over12) views Free Realms as a "real game". Because there are so many F2P games, you can't exactly pile them into a category and say, "Look, all free games are __________!" That's just ignorant.
