Aion in hopes that it'll get better, and FFXI. Though I wish I could be playing FFXIV along with Kyle.

Looks like a fairly typical mmorpg that's been cloned and reskinned since Ever Quest. It's pretty sure but I could just keep playing WOW if I wanted to keep playing the same game all the time. I'll just wait for SWTOR, DCUO or The Agency (which I am still not sure is really an mmo yet).

I mean come on developers your going to have to get out of your comfort zone if you want to interest me and others like me in an mmo now. All three of those mmos are pushing boundaries and trying to move this genre forward doing the same thing all the time just isn't going to cut it any longer.

Wait! You can play PS1 discs on the PS3? I need to hit the local gamestop to see if I can find any old PS1 games for like 5 bucks a pop!

My weekend will be kinda boring, I'm playing a neat mmog called Dragonica, It's fun in it's own right, but, i liked to play with friends/party, but none of my friends are interested.

I also am poking Vendetta Online a few times, trying to get the urge to buy the game. Who knows.

I did opt in for the AION beta, but, Plaync thinks my username and password is nonsence, and I am unable to play.

So, a weekend that isn't what i had planned.

I tried Vendetta Online a while back. It seemed quite good and fairly polished but I couldn't get past the monthly fee. I couldn't quite put my finger on why but It just didn't seem like the game was worth paying money for.

I had a chat with John Bergman about why he chose the subscription plan as I got the feeling that was the main thing holding the game back in terms of player numbers. It's unfortunate but it seems he's stuck in something of a bind now. If he switches from a subscription to microtransactions or free to play with ad-support, his current playerbase would be outraged. And they're the guys paying the bills. He made it clear that they have absolutely no room for experimentation with the business model. The tiny development team seemed very dedicated to the game though, from what I could tell.

Aion, very disappointed.

After I finally got my hand on the beta key the last 8/9 hours I was playing Aion and end up with a really disappointed face :(

positive:

*game runs very well
*interface is nice to use
*music is quite good
*graphics are ok, much less good than Aion trailers, but still not bad

negative

*Very standard MMO....... kills 10 of X, collect 4 of Y
*No goal or reason to be there......, you feel like you're dropped into a world where you don't belong
* text is mediocre at best.........., it's definitely translated by people not used to MMO, the language and terminology used isn't impressive and in some spots the translation is worst them in f2p grinders
*Combat is very boring........... for the first 10 levels, you get very few abilities
*Game is a grind............, maybe I've played too many MMO, but ..is what you'll be doing for about 4 hours non-stop to get to level 10
*NPC's did not speak to me (sound)................, no voice acting?!
*Zones you start in are way too small,......... too many players all dumped into starting places, you feel like a person trapped in a box and I am not kidding!
*No real story..........., almost no lore, I felt lost? and it felt a bit pointless to be there and that make this game pointless as well...
*There's something wrong with the game's horizontal vision,..... imagine looking through a camera and missing a good part of the side view of the world, that's what it's like when playing Aion, they restrict vision to the left and right

If I had to give it a score? Shrug, I guess 3/10. Anyway, I hope this helps, yes it's a very negative review, but that's how I felt about the game.

Flying is way to slow I donno if this get upgraded as you level but level 10 it just basically how you go up and down it isn't a mount. Combat is alright but as a warrior I had to bandage after every fight to stay a float. You really can't be to careless and get a extra mob or you will be hitting pots. This game HAS TON of walking... so I don't get why flying isn't faster (and they have stated NO MOUNTS). I probably wont go past 13 I can already feel the grind which would be alright if I didn't have to walk 800 miles to turn in quest. UI is very reminiscent of every Korean mmo. It's NCSoft I didn't expect much 4/10 beta review. No buy for me. To sum it up its a sub par free 2 pay that isnt
